Egads, Frank. That's a bit frightening, eh? Sure shows why we need to be diligent on our maintenance.
Probably shoulda put my bird into the dirt today...sure as heck, that horse in the nose saved it. Can't blame the airplane...I just completely dorked the entry to a wall->hover down low (funny thing about that left stick...it does rudder as WELL as throttle), and she was wobbling all over the place. Thankfully, once the nose was pointed vaguely skyward, a healthy does of the "get me outta here" stick did the trick. *heh* Thank goodness, it's a forgiving airplane!

It's funny how those little wobbles get to be big yaw's when down low to the ground. LOL

Ya know, the funny thing was...it didn't really phase me too much. Just kinda went "Oh, woops", caught up with it, punched out, and went on. Heck, very next pass around, went right back into a wall at low altitude.
I think it's really just a function of the airplane. It simply does exactly what I expect, no surprises, every time. I don't think I'm really a "better pilot" than I've always been...none of this stuff seems like i'm "learning" anything new...it just seems like i've finally got an airplane that does what I think it should, all the time, every time. *shrug*

8:30-ish eh? Okie doke. We'll look to wander in between 8-9 ourselves then.
What's the food plan? Should we plan on providing any fire, dead animal, or liquids?

We had talked about me bringing sausage, but it really doesn't matter to me. I'll give you a call this week and we can work out the details. Don't want to make too many guys hungry while reading this thread. We do that enough already.
We got to fly with Bubba on Saturday and he commented about how good the ribs looked from earlier in the week.

Okay now you guys have really gone and done it, don't them dare pics ever go away. NO!NO! Did have a wonderful time Saturday at UC, great friends and great flying. Hey Doug is the pipe for a 40 or 60 cc jet engine, sure would like to put one on mine. We had a good day yesterday for flying at Benton, a couple of new pilots with the rest of the gang. Hope to get some plans on having you guy there in August or September, we have still got to see if Bill or Jim has the fastest delta. Pictures of the ribs and the steaks both make me hungry.

I finally finished my new 540 ARF. In addition I also finished a plans build on a little 48 inch Hots. The Hots has a OS 55ax glow engine while the 540 is sporting a new ZDZ Super 80. I want to thank yellodog,,, spoiler-man,,, and Nogyro for sharing their experience with me as the 540 is my first gas plane.

RE: KEN/TEN FLYING
Hey guys, Bill bought a aero-works 75cc extra 260 from Jerry last weekend so we decided to try out the new Tenergy 50HP on it just to see what it would do. Had alot of problems trying to get the CG any where near where it should be, made some sub C battery packs and monted on the motor box. Anyway we flew it Sunday at the field Aeroworks 260 75cc size weight 21.5 lbs CG about 1.5 in back from the wing tube with 24 oz of fuel added. You wont believe how well it flew harriers rolling harriers even hovers , not much on pull out but does fly better than it did with a DA 85 upfront. Only about half or 3/4 of a gallon of fuel run in the engine and it is putting out 6570rpm on a 22x10 xoar prop and 32.5 lb thrust on the ground. So fan the engine is rock solid.

It was nice to meet you out at Mac's Sunday. Glad Gordon was able to talk you into coming. The day turned out great, considering how the weather was when we all left home in the morning. And yes, those 10' tall corn stalks do shrink the field a bit...... But like you said, still lots of great flying, friendship, and food. What more can you ask for? [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
Hey Gordon, is the WH Edge still "seeping smoke oil"?

Hey Wildcrashwilly,
The Edge and the Hots look great! Man, two new birds to maiden at the same time. Just let Bubba pick one to do, and you fly the other one....
Hope you can find the time to get the maiden in on the planes soon.

Hey Kenny, did you make it over to Paduach this weekend? Also any idea as to when you are going to have something going at benton? Kenneth Mo is the frist weekend in Sept, we have been going over there on Sunday's. They cook up a lot of fish and trimings.
