Lee's Toyota Tundra build thread
Ive been after one of these for a couple of months, so when i sold my NIB Scania R620, i knew what i had to do! 
its going to be a real slow project, as i have a TB-01 thats only half built, plus some other RC's that need complete rebuilds and others that need new bodies..
my second 3 speed eh?

Very much looking forward to this build. I've had one of these trucks sitting on the shelf for several months now. Just haven't gotten around to building it. Too many other projects going on...

here's what i have for it so far... 3Racing winch and mounting plate, bearings, plus a gorgeous translucent 6ch FM RX..
i have paint on the way, but need a Futaba S3305 servo, Tamiya CR tuned motor and some sort of light kit for it..

a quick look at the parts bag and tree's...
hardware box with Tundra graphics..
a multitude of parts bags (mostly metal hardware)..
whats that, they include the new type of threadlock? the one i specifically bought last week?! [&:] i definately prefer it to the tube of blue coloured threadlock, as that 'strings' all over parts and is hard to wipe off.

i just ordered a Junfac front steering kit for the Tundra, i hate bellcrank type steering systems, this kit bolts the servo to the front axle.. [8D]
not too pricey at 18$ either..

CR-01 comes w/ those red threadlock too!!
Nice front steering setup.. that makes sense!! (but probably reduce some suspension travel??)

smart set of wheels, as the tyre is quite tight on the rim, i decided not to use CA.. plus if you get CA on plastic parts it 'fogs' and looks terrible.
pretty long frame..
quite an assortment of tools, the most ive gotten with a Tamiya kit!
my typical approach with parts bags... tip them all out and play hide and seek!

use no bearings?? well i guess it is for linear movement, eg: non rotational.. 
enough gears i think...
my choice of grease, its actually suspension fork grease i think..
gear shafts assembled..

gearshafts attached to gearbox plate...
note the two bits of 'cross bracing?' didnt feature on the 1/14 gearbox..
gearbox almost complete.. just spur gears and final gear to add...
thats its for tonight, i think..

okay so no work in the morning always tempts a little more building..
discovered something odd, the dogs toy tyre actually fits the Tundra rim perfectly! quite a bit larger as well, although the bone tread might not be the grippiest!!
final gear attached..
slipper clutch material..
slipper pretty tight..
cant really do much else as i dont have the motor, servo or steering kit yet..

it was only for this one place, bearings are okay everywhere else, besides i dont recall a request like that on my Volvo build.

friction shocks are assembled, the alloy body is pretty light, yet the shaft is heavy steel.
