Just got back into the hobby *updated PICS*
Well its been a couple years since I've been on RCU, but I am back and decided to purchase a Savage for the 4th time haha. Bought a junker off eBay and I am going to strip it, clean it, build the diffs and install some upgrades here and there. I'll be postin up some pics hopefully soon. Just figured I'd make a point of comin back to RCU ha. Been spending most of my time and money with my other toy...

Looks like you have your REX on a dyno there. Whats it like man? I am thinking about selling my current one and going for the new STI wagon looking one. I will sell before I go to Afghanistan and buy the new STI when I get back!
Any thoughts would be cool thanks.
Oh and what savage did you get?

A Lipo powered REX? That would be awesome. I miss mine sometimes

So I just finished building up my Savage. Axial .28, XL TVPs, T-Maxx wing setup, Ofna linkage, built diffs and shocks... the pics explain the rest.

Good looking Savage. One question/comment though. What is the main reason for mounting your reciver where you did? I can only think of bad things that will happen as a result of where it's placed, not sealed/covered, exposed servor wires, etc.

This is my 4th Savage and I HATE the radio box with a passion. I always like to do my own unique setup. The RX is high enough so it wont get knocked into anything and I don't really drive it in much mud/water.

Nice to see some Suby love in here. I'm looking to get a 2005 Legacy GT sometime. It's just like an Impreza except you don't look like a teenage cock.

The STi put down 310hp and 340 ft/lbs to the wheels on a 4wd Mustang Dyno. Runs like a champ, 11.5 a/f all the way across.
I am surprised no one has bashed me about taking off the roll bar yet haha. This Savage is incredibly light for some reason, but hey lighter is better...

I figure the wing will give me protection anyway. Roll bars are for girls, end of story... haha
Am I missing something, where is this box labeled "fluids?"

Just a heads up for you. You are probably going to bend a shock shaft on the aluminum shocks with the springs compressed that much. The springs aren't going to want to compress and the force from a jump is going to want to push the springs sideways because they won't compress upwards. They are already pushing sideways. Loosen off the pre-load collars so they mach the front plastic shocks and that should prevent any bent shafts. If you want the truck to sit higher, use some stiffer springs. Also, the ribbed pipe will kill the upper rpm range of your engine.

Eh the springs on the truck now are shorter than the ones that came with the aluminum shocks, I am sure the shafts will be fine... If they bend, they bend. I went with the ribbed pipe for sound and for low end, I wanted it to be loud and obnoxious and be tuned for the holeshot. What gearing is everyone else running?
