RE: My SCX10
thanks texx!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...i'm very glad you found me in here!!! ...your comments are very welcome.
This is a big improvement on my previous model and yes hopefully i will continue on this thread with mods and upgrades.
Yesterday i ordered 5 landrover wheels & tyres (one will be a spare wheel) and an HPI landrover body is on the way.
With all the money i spent on this model i thought i'll be a bit more cautious but soon i forgot all about it and i was bashing it on the rocks LOL
Body is not so shiny any more LOL but it was so much fun i couldnt hold myself. I have my own rock course in the garden and i think i made it too hard for my SCX.
Have to make it a bit easier because so far i have not managed to drive it completely.
will post more pics later...

RE: My SCX10
i think he meant his ax10s have rear steering. Well it does not come stock obviously but since axles are the same i guess that you can do it

RE: My SCX10
today i received my landrover wheels ...very happy with them and they fit perfectly with no scrubbing. Tyres are a little bit small (some 8mm smaller in diameter than the flat irons) and i might try the flat irons on these rims and see if they fit ok. Here is a pic of them fitted on. I just put the spare there...it will go on the landy body when that arrives

RE: My SCX10
not sure yet...but got nothing planned for bumpers. ATM i'm working on how to modify the body. Tried to do a dummy hardtop to see how it looks but i did not like and now i'm thinking about a soft top.
This is what i did so far... and if i go for this i need to fabricate some sort of hood sticks out of brake pipe. For now i did a cardboard structure to hold the hood.

Wow good job there mate (). I love the black shell but the soft top shell like http://www.byzan.org/wp-content/uplo...soft-top-5.jpg would look real neat. Just currious how you like the flat irons, debating a pair

thanks a lot mate... sorry but i cant see the pic.
regarding tyres well, i think i cant really judge or comment much because i didnt really drive it much and havent been anywhere with it except for my garden. So far i cant complain I havent even done 1cm with the Rock Crushers that came with the landrover wheels i bought but they seem good tyres...they are just a little bit small compared t the flat irons.

...just finished painting the landy body...did not use liquid mask and it was a nightmare to mask it with tape to paint rollcage, bumper, arches and tub in black. I did the rest in dark green and it came ok. Pics will follow later.
