My new PAU Pitts Bulldog!!!
Here's a couple of pics from the field today of my NEW PAU 50cc Pitts Bulldog! She is ALMOST ready to maiden, just waiting on a couple of regulators and a servo arm, so I should be good to maiden next weekend!!
This is one BEAUTIFUL bipe!!

Nice!
Is she packaged with those graphics or do they need to be made up by the purchaser? I'm too lazy to go to the site and check it out

Yes, she comes with the graphics shown. I think I will have some more cut, though as there is still a lot of yellow! I went to Jim Leroy's Bulldog Aviation site and he has graphics files available for download for those who want to model his full-size Bulldog. NICE!!

RE: My new PAU Pitts Bulldog!!!
Sweet!
One of these is on my "very soon short list", as something I can fly without the anxiety of flying my scratch built 33%-er.
SO happy to see someone keep Jim's memory alive.
Thanks for the great pics!

Nice!
Jim Leroy was my favorite aerobatic pilot. He really pushed the envelope.
I wonder if PAU has any plans for a bigger version, maybe a 100cc version?

Is this a recover version of Challenger, or is the airframe updated?

Both the Challenger and the Bulldog have been re-designed and upgraded to newer, lighter building techniques. The Bulldog is different from the Challenger in that the cowl is different as well and the tailfeathers are scale in shape.

Thanks, Hammbone! I don't think there are any plans to do any bigger versions of the Challenger/Bulldog at this time, but check out the 100cc PAU Ultimate. It is one AMAZING machine and it is CHEAP as far as 100cc airframes go!!

He was, however, an even better person. A great friend and a truly outstanding man. It was a genuine privilege to know him.

As for a bigger version...if you're interested, I've still got the blown up plans from which I scratch built my 33% Bulldog. A G-62 powered it nicely, and it could certainly be lightened enough to be a real rocket on that motor. No question, the plans could be enlarged to a 100-cc sized airframe without much trouble.
And hey...because it's an excuse to show off *heh*
I'll be happy to send along a copy of the plans if you wish.
The build thread for mine is [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4422492/anchors_4422492/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#4422492]here[/link] if you're so inclined.

RE: My new PAU Pitts Bulldog!!!
Thanks so much for the offer, but I don't really build from plans any more. I like to fly more than I like to build.
PAU has both a 27% and 37% Ultimate, maybe they are planning to do a 37% Pitts Bulldog to go along with the 27%.
At least I'm hoping they are.

Jim was, indeed, a tremendous pilot (arguably the best in the business at the time...other pilots certainly thought so).

The plane is very nice, the young lady is beautiful!
The PAU planes are really nice looking. I was wondering how long it would be before ARF's began to look more scale.

RE: My new PAU Pitts Bulldog!!!
I am flying my Bulldog with a DA 50 and I believe all up it is around 16lbs or so. My first few flights I was confident enough to do some tail touches and some awesome harriers. Last video we shot it was too overcast for anything to come out well.
It will fly 3D as well as scale very well!
I have owned and flown a lot of bipes and of all the Pitts in 50cc size I enjoy this the most.
