Tail Dead on Axe CPv3-Replaced motor and still dead!
Hi Guys,
I thought I blew out my tail motor, and luckily I had ordered one for just this reason. Well, I put a new one on and still no tail motor. I was flying when the tail just quit, which sent me spinning back down to the ground. Thankfully I landed on the skids. There was a distinctive burning smell, but I just assumed it was the tail motor.
Is it my esc, my 3 in 1? Can I get this replaced by Heli Max? Thanks!

Have you tried hooking a small battery directly to the motor to see if it turns to confirm it is the motor or confirming that the new motor is good? The distinct smell is one of a burned up motor. Not likely anything else burnt up unless it was in a crash or a lot of resistance, but it is possible.

Hi,
Just ran a battery to the tail motor. It works. Must be the esc, then, right? Wondering if I can call Esky and get a new one. . .

I would turn then to the ESC as well after you make sure all your connections are tight. I would be shocked if Helimax gave you a replacement but I guess it is worth a try

Have you removed the 3 in 1 to look at it? Same thing happened on my CPV3 turned out to be the 3 in 1, it was obviously burnt in one corner.
