RE: RC Surfer
To save time someone should make a essential shopping list of things you need and where to buy them if not at a LHS. Everything from reinforcing the cover to neoprene washers, motor size, Lipo batterries size, Etc. I have a pretty good idea what to get to make china lisa or boardshark moving and surfing but an ultimate list would save you heartache getting something someone put on here and it ended up not working out. For those of you that don't want to bother putting one together yourself, Surfcurls has complete setups that look pretty sweet. Thanks to everyone keeping this page going with there setup's. It is a huge help.

RE: RC Surfer
Hi Longboard'
We only use 75mhz am radio,s, and they work well...
make sure your radio transmitter is properly programmed to your esc
also make sure you turn on the transmitter, then plug in the battery,
this way your radio is the only thing "talking" to your board
Then make sure you unplug the battery first after use, and then shut off the transmitter.

RE: RC Surfer
Quick question, are you guys using the stock shaft and tube in the nqd? what size is the stock shaft for a coupler, what size motor output shaft are the fast surfers using? I have a board shark stripped ready for mods and a nqd lisa ready just trying to tie up some lose details. Thanks

RE: RC Surfer
The Shark Uses A 5mm Coupling (shaft End) and 1/8 for the motor side ( Im 99% Sure) Been a while on that one.
The NQD Uses a 4mm Coupling (shaft end) and 1/8 For the motor side (100% Sure)
We dont use the stock NQD Shaft or plastic coupling
surfcurls.com has the 4mm shaft (stainless Steel) and comes with the coupling, set screws and Stuff Tube. Fits NQD and All Kyosho, But NOT Shark.
Hope this helps

RE: RC Surfer
Thanks Surfcurls!! What is a good lipo size for these? I have some 11.1v 2100, from my aircraft days, will these work alright with a brushless setup. Is there bigger and better lipo's to put in to give the surfer more weight in the water?

Correction... the board shark's motor coupling uses 1/8 for the motor side and 4mm for the shaft.

She moved at about 50mph. Not really. About 20mph at full whack.
Longboard, I'll take a look for you. I think a picture of the esc may be in my previous photos on page 18.
