These just showed up today, and will start shipping this week.
Part# 29424 which contains the Spectra 2.4 Module and (2) Optima 7 receivers. Street price: $129.99.

These are the Hitec Spectra 2.4Ghz upgrade modules with Hitec Optima 2.4Ghz receivers that let you convert your Optic 6 or Eclipse 7 (but not Optic Sport) to 2.4Ghz FHSS. Hitec is offering these modules at very affordable prices and with a nice assortment of aggressively priced receivers.

Hey Mike, the first advertisements for the module mentioned they would work with a 9C. What's the latest word?
Thanks.

RE: Hitec 2.4Ghz Module/RX combo arrival
Just picked up my module and 2 RXs at the LHS, the Hobby Horse. They are working on shipping a bunch of them. Digested the instructions over lunch and I'm going to post some questions about the instructions in the Hitec forum. Time looks tight tonight but I think at some point on Friday assuming I can install it and set things up properly I should be flying it on Friday.

What makes these better over current optic 6 setup? Do they have better range, draw less juice or faster or what?

1. Fly anywhere withless concern regarding who may be operating a crystal basedtransmitter on same frequency nearby (and probably out of sight) at local parks, backyards etc.
2. Short antenna does not get in way of blades, poke other people in the eye, less likelytobreak at an inconvenient moment.
3. Telemetry - warns of low battery aboard aircraft/boat/car/robot etc.
4. No need to remove/replace module to change frequencies where users have multiple models and frequencies.

RE: Hitec 2.4Ghz Module/RX combo arrival
Flew the 2.4 module in a foam electric model with ESC tonight. 4 flights no problems. I was running the module in a Futaba 9C. Tonight I am setting up a sport plane glow model hopefully I will get a chance to go out to the field and try that out. No problems at all that I am aware of other than my inexperience with 2.4 systems.

That is mind blowing Mike!!
I've been watching these Hitec threads with much excitement. Last year I spent $400 to upgade my 14MZ with only one reciever. [:@] I love that radio but now I wish I never bought it. Plan was to never have to use another radio again, I think I'm going to get my 8U back in action with these. MY GOD, $130 w/ 2 RECIEVERS!! AND CHANNEL HOPPING! [X(]
watch for rising prices on used 9Cs

RE: Hitec 2.4Ghz Module/RX combo arrival
Four flights today on a glow powered model with flaperons and dual aileron servos. All the programming in the 9C from when I was running 72mghz with it seemed to work just fine. First 2.4 flights were tight with a Alfa Wildcat this time I flew the Sig LT 40 up and out as far as I could and still keep orientation. The 2.4 module seems to work great with my 9C. As soon as the 9 channel RXs become available I am going to try it in a more complex airplane. I really couldn't see any issues with the module or RX now that I understand a bit more of what I am doing.
So for those keeping score I have two of the 7 channel RXs in two planes, one a glow model and the other a foamie electric with ESC. So far so good.

RE: Hitec 2.4Ghz Module/RX combo arrival
Where can I find more info. I've been to the Hitec web site but can't find an installation/user manuals. I have a 9C that I would like to switch to 2.4Ghz. Futaba is to expensive.
Some questions I have are:
Will there be a 9 channel available, if so, will it work with my 9C?
Does my 9C have to be changed to PPM like the Futaba or Spektrum modules?
Is the Hitec modules 2048 resolution like the Futaba?
Link to any more info.?

Present resolution is 1024 (few users would be able to truthfully distinguish between that at 2048.)

Here's the link to the manual: https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/oet/f...ive_or_pdf=pdf
I'm hoping to have the Aurora manual as well as this one on our website tomorrow.
Yea, the 9Ch RX will work with this module in the 9C as well but is not due for another month or so.
Mike.

RE: Hitec 2.4Ghz Module/RX combo arrival
Is there a 9 channel version yet? A 7 ch. setup isn't enough for me. I need 8 channels for some of my GS planes. If a 9 ch version is available, will it work on the 9C? None of the links have a manual for the installation of the module. Can Mike chime in and tell when a manual will be on Hitec's site?
Any plans of going to 2048 resolution? I have some flying buddies that say they can tell the difference between 1024 and 2048.
Sorry Mike.
You answered some of my questions as I was typing.

No problems using modules in a 9C set on PPM (PCM is proprietary to each individual brand on other frequencies).

I didn't overlook the post. I saw the last post but didn't understand that was the link to the manual. It looked like gibberish to me. I figured the link would go to someplace on Hitec's site.
Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers.

Module and Receiver manuals:

http://www.hitecrcd.com/product_file...679_Manual.pdf
Aurora manual: http://www.hitecrcd.com/product_file...a_9_manual.pdf
No, this module will only work with Hitec and some Futaba radios like the 9C that use a similar size module.
