V,
Thanks for trusting your birds to these batteries, and thanks for the kudos!
Take care and we'll talk soon.

RE: JR 12X Owners - Upgrade your battery pack to Eneloops
i changed out mine last night - no issues.
i have a question... on the original JR pack instead of a welded jumper between cells 4 and 5 there is an electronic component connecting them in series. any idea what this is and is it needed? my guess.... its a temp sensor that opens on very high temp (which would make for a bad day if you had somthing in the air!)

I ordered mine earlier in the week, and got them from Las Vegas to the east coast in a couple of days. Installation was a breeze and these are fantastic packs! I have only two minor suggestions for this great upgrade. 1. I'd include a brief instruction sheet outlining some of the points covered on this forum like removing the binding plastic and hot glue, care in soldering etc. 2. You should definitely include a "Reverse Engineered Alien Technology" sticker for the do it yourselfers! :-)
Thanks again for a great service!

I recieved the pack from Chad, and didn't have to take the plastic rap
off. Just spliced the area anteriorly about 1/4 inch, and it went in very nicely.
Chad; thank you .

RE: JR 12X Owners - Upgrade your battery pack to Eneloops
I cannot thank Chad enough for taking care of me on my 10X and 12X transmitter batteries. I must say that I was a little skeptical at first because itsounded too good to be true. I was fed up with the JR batteries not lasting me anymore than a couple hours. I was constanly having to recharge on a daily basis while flying. The new Eneloop 2200Mah NiMh batteries cost me around $97.00 for both and Chad assembled the packs for free and sent them back to me 2nd Day (just in time for Gateway Jet Rally). I was able to fly all 4 days without a charge and the transmitters were still reading 10.1 volts. I trust my Eneloop batteries to fly my new BVM Bandit ARF, BVM Ultra Bandit and my new Tamjets F-18 Super Hornet and many other aircraft currently in my fleet. In approximately 2-3 weeks my 12Xw/ Eneloop batteries will be entrusted to fly my new Shalish Patel F-86 w/ P-200. Thanks again Chad and Ilook forward to doing more business with you soon!

Chuck - Thanks for the feedback. PM me your address and I'll mail you some stickers.
Hector - Glad you didn't have any problems. You'll notice the difference right away.
Frosty - Glad you're enjoying them. These things just seem to run forever. I just maidened my BARF on Friday. A123's in the plane and Eneloops in the transmitter! Ultra Bandit's next.
Vincent - I will trade you a lifetime supply of eneloops for either of your Mig's! (PS 1 pack should last you a lifetime )
Thanks for all the feedback and kudos.
Chad

Chad, do you sell the 12x cases/casettes or just the batteries themselves?

RE: JR 12X Owners - Upgrade your battery pack to Eneloops
I have converted my 10xs and 12xs to Eneloops from Chad. Conversion was a breeze.
There are very interesting and informative discussions on Eneloops including comment from Sanyo, on the following sites :
www.stefanv.com
and another :
www.eneloop.info/home/faq.html
They have a lot of info on Eneloops characterstics and handling (forming, charging, discharge curves, and storage etc)
It seems that these cells, based on independent comments on the above site ARE the very best power source for our transmitters.
Well worth reading.
It may be worth mentioning that to use some fast chargers as described in the site it will be neccessary to remove the diode, which prevents reverse charging, in the small PC board in the battery casette and replacing it with a jumper. This allows the charger to test the voltage before applying the charge current, some chargers will work with the diode fitted, my Orbit Micro Laders and Ultra Duo would not, work fine with the jumper fitted.
Dave Wilshere showed me a Graupner/JR charging cored specifically made for fast charging JR battery packs (pin polarity is unconventional !)
Regards,
David Gladwin.

This pack is a breeze to install when packed by Chad. For a whole
day of flying I don't recharge, there's no need. It will last long, stays
in the 10. volts.
Excellent service by Sin City.

RE: JR 12X Owners - Upgrade your battery pack to Eneloops
We just upgraded out first 9303 pack this week. No problems. After opening up the 9303 pack, I can tell you it appears to be the same brand of batteries, in a 1500 mah flavor. The connector is easy to remove and place on the eneloop packs.
So, 9303 packs can also benefit from this upgrade, as would probably every xmitter pack using 8 AA size batteries.
