Default Traxxas Buggy

Traxxas is about to release a 1/8 buggy on thursday.
Might be elec, or nitro, dont know.
I was wishing for a BB Tmaxx, but I am leaning more to the buggy.

Let the flaming start

I'm guessing more of a Slash and/or Slayer VXL.

Since they think 1/10th scale vehicles are 20+ inches long, this will probably be like 28" long

No way traxxas is going to release a competion grade 1/8 scale nitro.
They dont have anything in the corperate parts bin, and they would have
had to do alot of R and D so someone would have seen it by now. Remember
when Losi did the original Eight. There where spy shots of it for months before
it actually hit the market.

The other rumor is a 1/5 scale gasser like the 5B. Again they would have too
completly tool up for it since there is nothing in there current line up that would
have any parts that would interchange. Also like the 1/8 scale I think someone
by now would have seen em running it and there would be reports on the internet.

Most likely what coming is either a 4wd slash based around the Erevo chassis
or a brushless e-maxx or maybe a brushless Summit. Maybe a more race
oriented brushless slash based off the bandit chassis to compete with the newer
SC rigs.

Last possibilty is a brushless 1/8 scale buggy/Truggy based again on the Erevo chassis.
Obviously not a competion grade rig but something more like the RedCat Backdraft, kinda
a recreation grade 1/8 scale RTR rig.

maybe they have a private track they test on. it is traxxas and they do have alot of money, so if they wanted to keep secrets i think they probobly could. im sure whatever they put out will be quality and fast selling. if its a buggy ill def take a look at it, that woud be interesting. cant wait for thursday.[:@]

You cant do R&D on a buggy with just one track. The Losi team went to hundreds of tracks to test their new buggy before it released.

Of course they can.
All Traxxas needs to do is get a nice looking box and print on it "85 mph + truggy. Beat all other competitors." And there you go. A traxxas truggy or buggy that can hang with the rest

Just wondering how you came to this conclusion? Have you ever designed on or been on a team that did so?

You actually think Traxxas can make a competation buggy with a couple homemade tracks?

No way there gonna lay out the cash it would take to build a competition
grade 1/8 scale and not test it. They have Nothing, not even proper diffs
for an 1/8 scale. It would be a huge financial risk for them to tool up
and produce an entire new car aimed at one of the most competetive
markerts in RC and not do any RD at outside tracks? If it was true
we would have seen pics of by now. Impossible no, but very improbable.

Now a 1/8 scale brushless based off the ERevo, yeah I could see that.
But it will be an RTR recreation grade car not a race rig.

I would not buy a Traxxas, because I have not been that impressed with what I have seen of them. But I am pretty sure they are the only RC company that actually runs full scale pro1 trucks. So they have actual offroad experience in racing. Fun step into the hobby. Lots of people here love them. Their cost and parts availability make it a lot easier for a parent to put them in their kids hand rather than a $600-$1000 rig.

MWAHHAHAHAHA, Traxxas, making a competition buggy?? Now thats funny! I'm sorry but Traxxas can't make a durable vehicle. I just came from a Traxxas model to my Losi 8ight. My 8ight is LIKE A ROCK compared to my old Traxxas. I have bought one of the new Emaxx waterproof editions. EVERY electronic part on the truck failed and was returned to Traxxas for repair/replacement. Not to mention the weak chassis and other parts that snapped like a toothpick. I spent wayy more in replacement parts then I did for the whole thing new. Plus more down time then running time for sure!!

Sorry Traxxas, just dont got what it takes....

Here is what I found. I believe you guys are talking about the Backslash. Traxxas says its nothing really new at all, just a converted slash into a buggy is what im understanding. Anyway, here is a link.

enjoy!

I could find anything on an AE racing team. Only American Eagle racing, which was not offroad. Got any links.

AE sponsors multiple vehicles and is one of the primary sponsors of the entire series. Take a good look and you'll notice about 5 or 6 trucks rockin' the AE logo

AE is a major sponsor of the Lucas Oil Series and drivers in that series. However, the Jenkins Brothers, co-owners of Traxxas, campaign a Pro2 and Pro4 race team in the TORC series which Traxxas is also the title sponsor. That's what hrdcoreglf is getting at I think.

Jay Halsey (Jammin' Products) runs an Unlimited Buggy as well.

No, it's still the lucas oil series...

And AE actualy fields it's own U-4 (Unlimited 4WD) Truck, painted just like the AE SC8. So, Traxxas ain't alone there. Plus, traxxas runs 2wd I believe....
