Gerald, that is a copy of a flat foam plane. Needless to say that is a must have for me. I am just going to have to wait though. Maybe I'll buy it for christmas.
Dave E, way to go on turning out the micro's. Kudos to you and your team.

That one is designed from the start as a profile. I had it's grandfather and that is what hooked me on profile bipes. It was just marvelous to fly. and this one has air brakes as well.
Yeah, I preordered at the lhs and they ordered up an additional pair, so I guess that means I have sold 3 already

wow eflight is not wize on the price they put on this plane at $169 for a bind and fly and $109 for a plug and play. Kind of expensive compared to the parkzone planes.

Yeh, that totally sucks.
I looked at the site and it is not very clear or I am missing something. What do I need to complete the PNP?
I have the DX6i and tons of the batteries for the small PZ planes, so what else do I need. If you select the "Don't forget to buy" button, it only mentions batteries and chargers.

PNP comes with the fully-assembled airplane, and that's it. You supply the batteries, charger, and transmitter. Keep in mind it has the new long-throw AR6400L as well as TWO long-throw aileron servos. The motor in the Ultra-Micro 4-Site pulls more current than our other Ultra-Micros and really requires the new 150mAh battery.
Duplicating this airframe would be extremely difficult for the home hobbyist. You could do one out of flat foam, but a) that takes a lot more work than it seems, and b) it still wouldn't duplicate the structure. The foam in the Ultra-Micro 4-Site has been stamped, which results in an airfoil-shaped cross-section in the wings and tail surfaces. The result is an airplane with better aerodynamics and durability than one assembled from simple sheet foam. If you've never built a foamy biplane before (like the full-size 4-Site or the Divo), you might not appreciate how much work has really been done for you on this one.

RE: new e-flight ultra micro bipe!
Thanks for the clarification David.
Sounds like all I need for the PNP, since I have the DX6i is the battery, right? So in that case it is a pretty good deal.
BTW, it sounds a little confusing. That the BNF comes with the 4-port charger, ac power supply, and two 150mAh batteries
The PNP just needs battery, charger.
So the only difference is the battery and charger. So, for most of us, it is just a matter of getting the batteries.
So two batteries is $26.00 plus the price of the plane $109.00, that is a total of $135.00 plus tax of course. If I were to add the ridiculously priced 4 port charger, then that would be $175.00. So the advertised price of the BNF is a whole $5.00 off the price of buying it separate.
I guess I will get the PNP, two batteries and charge them one at a time, since I have so many other planes, I am sure two batteries will be enough for one flight session.
I still wish it had a fuse. I'm not much of a profile fan.

RE: new e-flight ultra micro bipe!
I want to say thank you again. I am arranging a DX6i that will carry the micros. I will have to make decisions as time goes on about my bigger planes. The fact is that dsm2 and the micros are going to be my primary flyers.
David, to be honest I clicked the compare button to figure out the difference

The $109 is a BNF version
and the $169 comes with two batteries and a 4 port charger
that charger is very nice, runs AC or DC, and peak charges 4 batteries at the same time..

RE: new e-flight ultra micro bipe!
Late November so far.
For the record, I built a Tensor 4D, and Dave E is correct, it is a bit of a pain. The tensor was an awesome flyer, but a terrible lander.

RE: new e-flight ultra micro bipe!
Due out the end of November just in time for Christmas.
I have my PNP on order at the LHS along with a couple of more 150mAh LiPo's.
I CAN'T WAIT!!!
As David said it is a lot of work to build a profile foamie, even in kit form. I'm sure this new micro bipe is worth it.
If you really want to the electronics will be available so you can build your own micro foamie.
I can't wait until they come out with a micro brushless system.

RE: new e-flight ultra micro bipe!
I'm really excited for this one after just receiving my PZ UM P-51D. So is there anyone on the forums from EF who can give us some more info or are we just gonna have to wait?
Still a month to go and i really hope they don't postpone as this ones a chrismas prezzy and i've already sorted out an indoor flying hall for the winter!

RE: new e-flight ultra micro bipe!
Only vids I've seen so far. Looks like a pretty fun plane, but I really like the long throw servos...I can always use more deflection!

Yeh, seen all of those, thanks anyway. I wish mxcop would put up some longer vids. I'm in need of an RC fix!

I don't like the fact that they are forcing you to buy the 4 port charger. It could be quite a bit cheaper with out it
Wait, I just heard there is a PNP version. Woohoo,
But I'm still not buying it. I'm waiting on a scale bipe
