OOOOOOOH THOMAS.....the way you make it sound, i may not even sart the glassing process on my foam wings....;-).. How would you incorporate the wing spars to peoples planes that already have the bulkheads/receivers installed??? Please dont tell me i would have to grind that s#it out!!

Using the G-10 spacers would allow enough adjustment for those who already have built airframes to fine tune the new wing panels to fit their particular bulkheads..
Make sense?

OK Guys n Gals, what are you all using on your controls for horns?? In the instruction it says that they need to be a max of 5/8 inch....Well Robart has the nice metal ball link horns but they are only 1/2 inch....seems to be a lil on the short side?? If you have pictures of your horn style and placement, i would appreciate it! thanks, Nick

Nick,
I'll have to dig up some pics, but I used a BVM carbon fiber control horn and machined it down to shape.
I placed some hardwood blocks in the control surface with enough space between them so that the horn would fit. Then, hysol the horns in.

Before you do that! If i were to do it again, i would use the Hinges that YA uses on their "arf's" shaun @ YA can get them for you. I believe he "may" be able to get a crude drawing of how they did their gap covers, etc as well. you'll have to check with him on that though.

Ok guys- got a question.....
I am setting up my linkages (trial run) and i have decided to go with 1/2 inch robart ball link horns, 4/40 threaded one-end rods wth carbon over the length of the rod. In looking at it, it doesnt look like i have enough clearance on the servo cover to allow for good movement of the servo in the current config, (and that is with the clevis on the outermost hole of the HD arm). Any ideas??? Did you all just cut more of the cover, did you use the outermost hole?? I am not a fan. You are kind of limited, especially on the ailerons, to the height of the horn you use because of the aileron linkage cover. .....Pix would be appreciated of your setup...Thanks in advance-Nick

Thomas, it is the smallest of the HD JR arms.....like 1/2 inch i believe. I was trying to keep the moment short so there would be no worry of flutter later. The clevis is almost touching the cover already!! I guess by followingthe instructions, i may have screwed myself, had i put the servo on the cover so the arm was to the rear, i would be able to get more mechanical advantage, but i did it the way the book told me to. HUH? Guess i will just get a longer arm ;-(
