Yes, I've seen that one. I am looking for the original with the standard tail.

Thanks.

To download the plans for the Seamaster II:

Go to the above linked site and find the plane. Click on download and save the plan. It will be zipped in a folder. Unzip the plan andsave it where you can find and access it from another program.

Google "Turbocad LE". That stands for Learning Edition and it is free. Comes from a site with "IMSI" in its name. (It says it won't work in Windows XP, but I run that and had no trouble at all). Download it and install it and you can use it to open the .DXF file the unzipped Seamaster II comes out in. Just click FILE, OPEN. Select .DXF file from the options and then find the unzipped file you have on the Seamaster and it will open in the Turbocad. The problem is, mine came out to 107% or 53% with no way to select in between. I suppose because it is a free edition. The plan is 120 inches long anyway.

I thought about printing it in TILEPRINT, but it would take a ton of paper and have to be pieced together. I never did figure out how to get it into tileprint anyway.

Gave it up as I really only want the original SEAMASTER plans. Might have to break down and pay AMA their inflated price for a set :-(

Hello coop02,

I've got the plans for three sizes of Seamasters: .25, .40 and 1.20. For the cost of printing and shipping I will send you any size or all. Take your pick. I used a .51 OS 4 stroke in the forty, which had its first flight in September 2000.

A couple of years ago, I converted the 40 size to an electric with an ACI 4120 motor. Flew great until it hit the water too hard one day.

The pics are of the 40 size and the big size

Good Luck

Thanks to Hugho and Jimcasey:

Those pics and the RCM plans are all for the Seamaster II with the high T tail.  Supposedly lightened from the original. Also, don't think they showed the option for wheels which I need most of the time.

I want to use a Saito .56  4 stroke in it and am looking for some plans for the original as in May 1982 of AMA magazine.

I'll keep those in mind though.

The AMA sells the plan for the original Seamaster by Ken Willard.

Default RE: SEAMASTER Plans?

I got the plans for Seamaster II downloaded through a friend suitable for Tile Print so think I am all set.

Looks like the Seamaster II as re-designed has some good features.  I'll just have to design the nose wheel which shouldn't be too much trouble, and add the main gear as the original had.

Plans say no more than .40 size engine, but .56 4 stroke should not be too excessive and Hugho had a .51 4S in his and did ok.  I'll build it strong. I like the 10% additional wing and the new airfoil for better flight characteristics.  The high tail should be more effective, too, and keep it out of the water.

Thanks to all for replies.

I built a Seamaster 2 from RCM plans years ago. This 48" WS plane flew fine with a .25 OS engine.
The original Seamaster has a 60" wing & a conventional tail.
The Ace kit version has a T tail
Not the same bird.

Use the plans at www.colinusher.info and ask your print shop to scale them up to give the size you need. Or you can print them yourself on sheets of A4 paper. Scale up just the same. A bit long winded but free. Details on how to tile print on my site.

I'm interested in the plans for the .40 Seamaster, is that the 60" and do you have the building instructions with that. Also looking to make this an electric.

Thanks

Fred
Sorry no build notes. Yes as far as I know the 60" is for a 0.40 motor.
