Looking for a new Nitro Car! Help!
I am currently new to the whole Nitro RCscene and I am looking to purchase a decent car kit for under $300. I see there are a few posts recommending some different cars but, a lot of the links are broken and out dated. (From 2006). I am looking for a 2009/2010 model. I have been looking throughout online for a kit but, I'm not sure which brands to trust. I prefer a kit or model that allows for upgrades and mods. Thank you!
P.S. - I know it is a long shot but, Iam also looking for a Koenigsegg CCX body!

RE: Looking for a new Nitro Car! Help!
I would not recommend any specific car. What i would say is that for around $300 HPI RS4 Evo3 and Kyosho FW06 and are good 1/10 cars. These are RTR's however. I think the cars that are kits are more pro and cost a little more. The Ofna DM1 spec kit or the RTR is an excellent car 1/8 scale( kind of.) All of these cars have readily available parts. The DM1 spec is about $400.
Team Magic makes some nice cars, but I believe parts are available only through Wolf Hobbies over the internet, they are in California. They are a good parts supplier.
It is good to get a car that parts are easily available both at the LHS and the internet.
Hope this helps
Jim

Thanks guys I appreciate it. Ihave been looking at HPI and I think that is what Iam going to go with for 1/10th scale. Unless Ican find a Kyosho Inferno GT2 Aston Martin DBR9 for around $350. Also, how about a CEN CT5-SRTR? I seen the Porsche GTRand they claim to reach speeds of 73.4, but what Iwant to know is how long does the car and parts last? And is it really worth it?

Can anyone vouch for any of these? Found these before I went and purchased the HPIRS4 3 Evo. www.tamiyausa.com/product/category.php

Go with the HPI, great parts support and good quality models. I have a really old RS4 and can still get parts for it just about anywhere.
You can't go wrong with the HPI.
Good luck,
Dbow

Get the HPi. No Doubt. I have had 3 of 'em and they have worked flawlessly. Right now i'm with a 18ss with a 18tz and the parts availbility for HPi's is second to none. It's adjustable from stock too. Quality car, no doubt about that.

why is HPI the car to get?
why is HPI the car to get?
I can probably write you an essay on this, but I won't. The quality of the HPi cars is second to none, the aftermarket hop upps are easily accesible parts can be found easily. The cars are adjustable out of the box.
