If your buying Integy aluminum it is trash. Fast Lane Machining, thats the good quality aluminum parts.
And unless you want to spend a large wad of cash on FLM stick with the plastic, You will bend aluminum and you will break all the plastic parts connected to it when you crash if you dont have the right aluminum parts.

I've never had a problem with Integy parts, except for the parts they make for the HPI 5B...then yes, but I think the weight had alot to do with that...and this truck is not going to be for bashing..strictly speed runs..so if I wreck it, something is going to get trashed any way.
and for the FLM chassis, I have seen them for $65...so how is that a wad of cash?

No, im talking about a full FLM Chassis, Bulkhead, transmission case, shock towers, ect. $150+ Extended CVDs + 41 and if you want the 1/8th scale chassis +55 to that. and thats not including the rear hub carriers
I dont know if your rich, but $150 is a pretty good chunk of cash to spend on a pede
But then theres the other complications, bigger motor, bigger battery to move a aluminum chassis around. I ono, lots to think about

not rich, but I make do , and $150 really isnt that bad in my mind, but with my luck I will have a few blow outs that will cause a few crashes and $150 worth of bent aluminum is not what I'm looking for..a $10 VXL chassis and broken plastic is easier to fix.
Integy is fairly inexpensive, and like I had said, I've never had problems with their parts for 1/10 scale vehicles..and if/when I do crash the truck at full speed, oh well..
its still an on going project, and still trying to find some half shafts/yokes that handle the torque of the Velineon motor.

I have to agree with this. I have been in the hobby for a long time, and have been using Integy and never had a problem either..except with the HPI 5B parts that they make..but then like I said earlier, I'm sure it has something to do with the weight of the 5B vs. a 1/10 scale rc.

Integy is for people that have only a show truck. There parts are junk, they bend and snap. I have broken 2 integy bumpers and a bulkhead from them. Its expensive and for the same price or even cheaper you can get quility traxxas aluminum or flm or even strc which is cheaper yet. More people will say that integy is junk that people that like it. You 2 are probably the only 2 that i know of that like it. Its not that big of deal, i just do not prefer it for what i do, its all personal preference. I bash very very hard so it kinda shows for me.
This is a PICTURE THREAD lets stop talking about his non sence. Here is a new body for my pede. I took these pics with my phone due to a rush in time so i will get some better ones tonight.

I'll join in. Here are my two Rustlers:
FrankenRustler - HBX Max Buggy Body and wheels, Bandit chassis with Rustler front end parts and Trinity P2K2 Pro brushed motor.
I don't like the "rainbow" body from the XL-1 Rustlers, but I couldn't strip the old paint off so I just painted the outer shell with Fusion and used leftover decals from other projects along with stripped/dyed wheels. (Yes, I know it won't last, but it will do for now.) Currently waiting for a cheapo EZRun brushless combo.

But Tamiyas, we get to build and they do have more charm than Traxxas'. The Lunch Box is not really worth upgrading, with its primitive suspension. But the Mighty Bull can be upgraded with oil shocks and a hotter motor right? Then, mightn't it be in the same league?

Well the conversion at that time was an old rustler chassis I had leftover and then I extended it at the rear with a piece of my old jammin chassis and other than that I put my front and rear slash pieces on...works great
