Default POST YOUR TECH TIPS HERE

TEACH NEW DOGS OLD TRICKS AND OLD DOGS NEW TRICKS.

I will start this thread with a tip for repairing stripped threads in plastic parts. Use a thin shock pre-load spacer to repair the problem. insert the shim into the stripped hole, start the screw, and using a hobby knife cut away the excess.

if you store your non stainless steel screws in your parts bin then put a cut off q tip head in the same bin. this helps them from rusting. dont tell me how it does, but it works. learned this one from bill dance cause it works for fish hooks!!!

moisture absorption even the small amount of cotton abosrbs enough to make a difference.

If you want your clutch to stop slipping on takeoff(not the slipper), you can put the clutch shoes in backwards from original(flip them over from where they were originally). Only drawback is that you have to have your slipper set properly because you are removing a slip point. Been running my revo like that for a few years now, and my clutch shoes last a lot longer.

another tip for stripped screw holes that i use is to fill the hole with ca then thread the screw in and let the glue set. The screw will thread right back out and you will have (almost) perfect threads.

I've been doing that for years.. works great... I don't know about the threads remaining, but it won't let go.,..Its a great fix when you are out bashing or racing and don't want to replace a stripped part...
