One of those is mine, the one with the Zenoah 20's. It was a good day.

Very sorry to see that indeed. I have to say though your approach seemed very slow to me. Hope you get her back together soon.
Cheers Richard.

Yep I was way too slow. The problem with flying a lot of IMAC aircraft recently is you spend every landing trying to get the speed down so the damn things will actually land. Should have flown the P47 a few times first. Oh well, you live and learn...

yep, was engine failure but if I had more speed I might have got away with it better.

Hi Wally, I emailed Andrew and he said he will work with me on that when he come back from Shanghai on the 19. Beside the mismatch i found more missing parts and both the wing tips are cracked about 4 inches around the corner. So i just wait for couple more weeks to see what Andrew will do .
Good news, Just got the email from Andrew he will send me the new Nacelle to replaced the mismatch one but painted in blue. Can't wait to see how it fit to the wings.

Thanks Andrew for your support.

No I didnt. Got one on order tho. Not sure if it would have saved the plane in this instance, but they are certainly a great idea so will give it a try.

Twin sync keeps the gassers timed as one.

Okay, I've had my F7F a long time and have yet to fly it... so now I am on the build a transport/setup cage/frame for the F7F. Has anyone crafted a transport/setup systme for this plane yet? I have made some sketches myself, but I have not been satisfied with the layout.

SO do you have pics of a transport/setup frame? Drawings? Show them here!!

First engine run of mine.... Fitted two ASP 120FS. One wing panel comes loos on video, but just misses the lock bolt. Made outer panels removable, so I transport it in back of my car (VW Touran)standing on gears with engines mounted. Gives 1,5 cm clearance to sides.

Also video of operating gear doors...

Sequencer of gear and doors made with 1 servo and a servoslower, total cost 12 bucks.

I wonder why they're doing them with a matt finish now? Scale color scheme from a current reno racer, but with a non-scale matt finish. Go figure.

I'll bet that ESM bought a boatload of flat blue paint, and anything US Navy is sprayed with it (Dauntless, Corsair, Tigercat, etc) without regard to whether the original was gloss or flat or even that shade of blue.

Probably all of the color coats ESM apply would be matt finish, as it has a higher pigment density than gloss, and therefore covers better. More production-line friendly. However, its the clear top coat that they're now doing in a matt finish.

Hi Gadyrdal, What retracts are you using and are the gear door's air activated?

I would say its probably the other way around. Transfers and graphics go onto a gloss surface way better without showing up milky. The model is then finally coated with flat clear. Most of the warbirds should be a semi-gloss anyway, and on hindsight, I would spray the entire airframe with that as soon as it comes out of the box BEFORE I do any work to it. Saves on hanger rash too (flat is a b**ch for showing marks and fingerprints!).

Got the nacelle and rear stabs from Andrew from KMP but it has same problem with the mismatch on both sides so I decided to use my by cut the fiber tube inside the nacelle then filed the hole upward bout 1/8 inch to accommodate the mismatch then epoxy the nacelle to the mid section with the metal tube then put the fiber tube back to the nacelle and epoxy from inside that to the tube and to the nacelle, It looks a lots better than before. now I'm building my TC to the point of the door for the retract on the nacelles and would like to see the photo who used the Robart hinges so I can copy that for my.

Thanks, Tom

I use ESM gen5 retracts. Seems quite ok. I operate the doors with some old gen4 retracts
