Who's going to CFI 10 next week
My last few days here in the Uk before the team and I head off to the Dominican republic for the 2nd CFI event.
Last years is already well documented as an all round success. This year is panning out to be on the next level, with loads more pilots booked and a whole heap load more planes. We need almost a full week to get just our fleet ready, and I now he D.R guys have been prepping for weeks now.
So come on.. Who can I expect to see in the Bar at the Hilton? and more importantly who can I expect to see giving us a helping hand at the field with all these toys
CFI 10 Bring it on!

What he hell does that have to do with model flying?
Yes of course I feel sympathy for the people of Haiti. I have even given to the charity appeal. What more have you done? If you feel so strongly about it why dont you go out there and help?
Tell me what you think I should do, and what would show my heart? Not go to the event? Would that make any difference? Should we all give up model flying? Sell our jets and stop enjoying ourselves? Oh and please tell me what the cut off distance is from the Epi centre at which we can start enjoying this hobby
Sounds to me like you have some other issues that need addressing?

How about this for heart JSX-Man.
At the event I will auction of one of my models. The proceeds from which I will donate to a fund that will directly assist those in Haiti hit by the recent Earthquake. Why dont you show some of the same heart and match the offer? Unless of course you are doing something else to help that we dont know about?

HI all, last year I attended CFI 2009, to get their, I landed in Punta Canna and drove the 5 hours to the host hotel El Embajador in Santo Domingo.
Driving my rented car,by myself, I got to see a lot of the country side, towns, local people and culture.
Why tell you this, holding a Jet rally here, brings a lot of money to their economy.
So holding the rally can only be positive.

What model are you going to auction? Might want to start the bidding right now!

Ali, my apologies to you. Sorry for your misunderstanding of my post content and not seeing why I wrote it.
You are correct in that my comments have nothing whatsoever to do with model planes and flying them, but I never insinuated that they did in any shape or form.
I am glad you have given to the charity appeal, and are now going to auction off a model a very nice gesture indeed. Hope you raise a good bit of dosh.
You are quite correct in that I probably have not done anything worth while in your eyes to help out the situation in the region, however having lost 2 close friends in the quake I am closer to the Epi centre than I hope you will ever have to be.
I have edited my post as I'm sure the event will be great and I don't want anyone to think I was bashing that. I was not in anyway. I hope is goes very well indeed.

Ali, I'll see you on Monday, have the screwdrivers ready, I'm a great mechanic as you know by my workshop .
I'm looking forward to it, and the Hilton has a bar right on the pool deck! The pool area overlooks the ocean, it's quite rough.
I have 100 pesos for whatever model you will auction!
See you guys in a few days.
