bigstang, i havn't got the carb yet.. as for the savage vs. tmaxx.. i have had several tmaxx's and they DO have their issues.. i want something that is tuff and wil not break all the time.. i do not mind general maintenance, but having diff gears, tranny gears, axles all breaking sux.. i do a lot of bashing and a big 4x4 truck is what i need.. the savage 5.9 is out of my price range.. the new 4.6 seems to be a nice truck.. please, tell me more.. lol
if its not their by wed or thurs the lates let me know it went out b4 xmas so well see. but look up vids on u tube and search for lst2 they are monsters. and tough as nails. i ran mine full speed(batteryfell out) and slamed it into my car... not one brioken part. but really i did some major searches when i upgraded and teh lst 2 was IMO the best

and go to lstforums.com and look their. trust me the lst2 is the bomb

The new 5.9 kit is the 4.6 kit with the bigger engine in it now, its not a savage XL, by the way.

I've never broken anything serious on my savages. I shimmed the differentials and have the heavy dogbones on one and CVD's on the other. Even the output cups have held up much better than expected. There aren't a lot of complaints about savages - some have complained about the differentials. The new savage flux diffs or 4.6 upgraded diffs have pretty much ended that.

well.. i am going to give the evader one more chance.. i am measuring my axles length, bearing I.D. and such.. going to order a mix match set of parts and try to run a solid dogbone axle (instead of having the cvd) so it has a cup on each end, and also be able to use a 12mm hex type of wheel.. if this thing would stop snapping axles it would be excellent.. the rest seems to hold up pretty well now.. it has all metal tranny gears with the diff mod.. its great for backyard bashing.. i spend so much money on my helicopters and planes im not sure if i should keep a nitro truck around.. they sure are fun though.

Anyone know how i can go about converting my current pull start Evader to work with a bump starter?  Or do i need to do anything at all?  I figured I would need to remove the pull starter, but not sure what else...cheers.

a bump starter works by spinning the flywheel through that square opening in the plate under the flywheel, you will not have to do anything at all to the car. do you have a specific bump starter in mind.

Looking to replace my current Evader fuel tank...any suggestions?I don't want to really drill holes and such, but are there any recommendations or easy installs that anyone here can recommend I purchase instead of the crappy stock tank that I've for right now?

its what your supposed to do. lol always either blow in th efuel line from the muffler to the tank to get the line full with fuel and make sure some goes in the carb. or u can get a primer bulb to do it for u

Hey guys, new here. I have the Bx, unfortunately I have to replace the piston and sleeve, as it has a lack of compression. I also have a few quick questions. Along with ordering the P/S, I was also going to order the connecting rod, piston pin ,head gasket, the back plate gasket, and a new exhaust gasket. I'm new to this whole thing, so, sorry if I sound like an idiot, but I know that I need to lube the P/S to properly insatall it, what do you guys reccomend? I know WD 40 is a no no. What kind of glow plugs and fuel do you reccomend as well? What size fuel lines does it use? And lastly, is thee a way to convert the Bx to an St? I was given this car from a friend, so I'm not sure what all he screwed with. Again I do aplogize for the length of my post, and I greatly appreciate any help I could get. Thanks in advance.

When i rebuild an engine i use either after run oil or 3&1 oil for installing the sleeve and piston. For the glow plugs id run the duratrax silver sport plugs or an os #8 plug, for the fuel anything 20% with a good oil content should be fine your going to have to retune the engine once its put back together so if you wanted to change to a differint nitro content ive seen guys running as low as 12% and as high as 30% i run either traxxas top fuel or byrons. Fuel lines you'll want are safe for use with the nitro using a cheaper line from the hardware store is probably a bad idea, you may also want to pick up a primer bulb. you can convert a bx to an st but for the cost of doing so its probably not worth it unless thats what you really want. Here's some links to glow plugs and some fuel lines ive linked a fuel filter also which is a good idea to use helps protecting the engine. im also linking a page with instructions for the rebuild.
