Shipping Large models
I relocated to Memphis earlier last year, and built three planes out of BOREDOM! It's been too damn cold to fly them, anyway I am getting transferred to Houston Texas and want to ship my planes out ahead of me before I move. What is the cheapest way to do this? I hear all about greyhound but know nothing about them.
I have a 30% Christen Eagle, Extra 300S and 1/4 Cub to ship.
I also want to pack all my building supplies and equipment ect....
Any suggestions?
THANKS!

RE: Shipping Large models
Go to your Greyhound station and they will give you all the info you need. I shipped an ARF plane in three boxes recently from SC to Texas. UPS was going to be almost $500.00. I shipped by Greyhound for under $100.00. It's worth checking out. You'll have max size restrictions but I shipped pretty big boxes. You can also find the info online at Greyhound web site.

RE: Shipping Large models
From Greyhound's website [link]http://www.shipgreyhound.com/faq/[/link]
Geyhound is the cheapest by far, usually. I needed to ship two large crates to Texas and greyhound was the cheapest. I called frieghtquote.com and they could match greyhound using first time shipper rate specials.
What are your package weight and size restrictions?
The maximum weight per package is 100 pounds. The extreme measurements of length, width, and height shall not exceed 30" x 47" x 82".
