RE: Who is?
I will be 51 this year! My two boys 11 and 12 (yes we started kinda late) keep me on the move and don't allow me to act my age. Still don't know what I want to
be when I grow up. At the risk of stealing a line from a well known individual my wife tells me "You are growing older not up"

My 2 young ones (14 & 10) keep me kinda young, my mind still tells me I'm 20, then I try and do something that my body then tells me "you cant MOVE like that anymore...idiot!"

Dang! I thought I had a slam dunk at being the Wise Village Elder on this forum, but it looks like I'm just a runner up Old Coot. I'm gonna be 71 in April (I am registered with Phil for birthday present ideas). The girls (and everyone else) say I act like a jerk. 4 years US Navy, how come I don't build ships?

What unit, Jim? Kilo 1/3 (I know it was Kilo, may have been 2/3) were kind enough to break my leg in two places in a training mishap at roughly 03:00 back in ohhh. '01 if memory serves.

RE: Who is?
54 here, one of my first jobs was working in a toy and hobby shop, had the modeling bug long before then, worked in the automotive industry GM dealerships (mechanic), then automotive accessory business (stereos, cruise controls, navigaton systems (installer)) got lots of experience wiring stuff, worked in the cellular telephone business when they were still mostly installed in cars. Changed my career path 16 years ago and now work in the video equipment business selling and building up computer based video editing systems for clients like, Raytheon, NASA (Boeing) and other government agencies and contractors as well as private companies and individuals. Yes... I am a computer geek and darn proud of it.
Only one Tank so far, Tamiya Panther, but not for long.

RE: Who is?
Hello,
This is Howie, age 63. Hence Howie63.
Have been building tank, ship, and plane models since about 1951. Blew up many with firecrackers. Don't plan on growing up.
I've always liked tanks. If I had 20 acres and $250,000, I'd buy a real one. But, I'll have to settle for my Panzer III with upgrades.
I've been wondering about age also. Here's a new one: how much money are you guys putting into these tanks? I opted for the Panzer III with metal hull, 3:1 gearboxes, Speed 400 motors, and waiting for my recoil unit. I figure I'll have around $600 into this thing, including paint, good charger, 3000mah battery, and a lube kit. That's still cheaper than a Tamiya tank, considering that you still have to purchase the radio controller.
Good question.
Howie

RE: Who is?
The most important number is HOW MANY TANKS YOU HAVE! But if you gotta know, I am 48. Where'd all those years go? We sadly lost one of our fond club members two days ago to cancer who was only 41 so enjoy each day gentlemen.

RE: Who is?
I'm going to be 44 in April.[X(]., but still have the mind and will of a 16 year old. Sad thought, because the body doesn't want to follow and ultimately wins!

RE: Who is?
I see that I have some seniority on BIGMIG (I was 67 last Saturday) but not on pattoncommander or Rex Ross or indeed chevyman. I usually tend to act my age (but that seems to vary quite a bit)
