RE: The Unofficial Outboard FE Tunnel Thread
No, Bobs bat boat is a cheapy ebay Wingrush. I think it would be a copy of the Graupner B-24.
Bob purchased the outboard when he went to Germany for the Oktoberfest. Bob thought he purchased 2 x GTX800 models, but they are dolphins. Such an amber state he must have been in!
She is electric and we think 820BB turbo brushed. Not sure, as the original owner made the cooling coil so well, we do not wish to take it apart.
Version 3 I'm making, will have trim tabs & turn fins. JC, this is great amusement my friend. We are excited to show you as usual. Fun like reef racer. I also have 2 tunnels ready now.[8D]
Yacht shmot. Been very windy all week.[:@] Both Phantoms ready to sail. People keep telling me at rcgroups forum our yachts are crap. Bobos and I will try early 2morro again. Would like you there mate for tips on the yacht one day.
Pete out.

JC,
Have a go at this pic from the 70's when I was 5 or 6. The old man is on the left, mum middle with sisters.
I hope you like my Bat cape, stylish brown shorts and sandels.
Who would ever think I'd be hoooooning f/e tunnels, eh?
Peter

Mate
Nothing like a trip to memory lane......[sm=sleeping.gif]. Time just flies nowadays..... Dad is a fishing freak. He would fish from small mullets to 2 metre long Black Marlin anytime he is free.....
I hope in a few years time to take Jc Jnr to those boat bashing sessions.....
Mate don't worry about your sailboat. You'll be the sole judge of how good it is and don't let what you hear in some forums bother you. From the cheapest to the most expensive rc vehicle they all can be modded and tweaked to increase performance, durability or bling bling factor Most important of all is to have FUN
Hope Bobo did not pay GTX price for the Dolphins.....
Can't wait to take a holiday and also take JC Jnr to see grandads and grandmas overseas..... Hopefully when I come back we can arrange some bashing/sailing sessions. Imagine 3 sailing boats sailing together.......[sm=stupid.gif] That would be a sight.

RE: The Unofficial Outboard FE Tunnel Thread
This will be my first post here. I really dont know what im doing. That said here are my questions.
I have a TS2 hull. Im painting it. What kind of paint should i be applying? Can i get it locally?
I also have a k&b leg 3.5 and have ordered the electric conversion from offshore. I also have the ul1 motor. I have a 100Amp esc. rated for 6s. I will be running 2 3s 2200 in parallel. The prop is prather 215. Will this work? What problems should i look for?
My last question is If i flip it will the motor and esc be fine?
Thanks
Brad

RE: The Unofficial Outboard FE Tunnel Thread
Gday Brad,
Me again, from Waters. Welcome firstly & thanks for reading the forum.
No probs with dunking brushless outboard into the water.
Not sure on ul1 motor, but I am sure others here have used it.
I use a 100amp in one of the tunnies, but it is HV esc. What is your make of esc?
TS2, like you have heard, will handle good power setup. Try 4s 5000MaH lipo, 30c min. Don't go over 5s, ask me!
I do not use 215, but Octura 438, 440, 442 & abc 40x53.
Not sure on the painting of a TS2 unless your a pro & know what your doing?
I don't think 2 x 3s in parallel 2200 would shift ya tunnie to great speed.
Tunnel rats from the US/Canada here will help & guide you.
Pete Repeat.

RE: The Unofficial Outboard FE Tunnel Thread
your rite peter the guys running the ul-1 motors use 4s, for racing they use a 42 x 55 prop, fairly sure its a grimracer prop.
and i agree pranther 215 is to big for that motor, 438 or 440 would be a good start
did see a guy useing around a 638 on a vs1 with a ul-1 motor 4s 5200s,think he was getting low 40s with about 10 minute run time, will try and check that out later and report back

Thanks Scott,
We have another tunnel rat here and we must guide him. Like I said, the man posted on waters with min response.
If you or JC or anyone with UL1 motor experience, should help. Being the most friendly and tip giving f/e forum on EARTH.
Any news of your beast?
Peter

RE: The Unofficial Outboard FE Tunnel Thread
hi peter, and before i forget my manners welcome brad
i havent used the ul-1 motor myself but have done a bit of research on them being used on the vs1.
as far as my vs1 its ready to rock and roll [sm=tongue_smile.gif]
may get it wet next weekend if i can find some were to run, had a great pond to run in but its now full of weeds
the gold coast is built on water ways but its all salt water.
now i have clear coated the entire hull the battry/esc box doesnt look so out of place, there isnt much spare room in the hull but i am extremely happy with the finished build
just need to name it
i would like to get some stickers made up, was thinking villan vs1 brushless

Scotty mate,
That's looks tops. I need a white A, U & S in white, 50mm(5cm) x 2.
Whitworths only do black letters in 50mm, no white.
If you can help with the white A, U and S, I would love it.
Thanks again champ, but don't go out of your way. I will cover all costs for this one.

How about getting a white paint can and using a stencil painting whatever you want?
Alternately how about doing a white (or yellow, gold, green, etc) background and sticking black stickers on them?
Happy to give you some black stickers if you want some.....

Like the one in this pic:
You can buy water cooling kits on fee bay or make your own.
Electrickery tunnie uses the old old 100amp optos.

RE: The Unofficial Outboard FE Tunnel Thread
Final motor pics with CF40mm prop 2 blader. She is ready to roll.
With same motor and battery config, I got 44.1mph in my supervee27 this am. Had trim tabs down to keep he from flipping and depriving her of more speed and left 3-5 mph on the table.
The TS2 seems heavier than the mono SV27(picking up digital scale to see how much more), so am not sure what to expect for the top speed, pardon the pun. Thoughts? Will a tunnel go faster assuming same weight and proper tune?
give me your estimates of top speed on first trial run with 40mm 2 blade, ammo 36/52 motor on twin 2s 25c/5000mh lipos. Also, max tune speed)

Very nice. That sure looks like a nice set up. Can you show us a pic of your radio box? That would be sweet. I am building one now. I have most everything i need. I need a cooling jacket for the motor and esc. I also need to build a radio box. Ill get some pics when i finish the paint. Again very nice looking TS2.
