I got my Tigercat today. For some strange reason the lexal inlets for the wing leading edge are not painted. Super annoying! Were they painted on everyone elses Tigercat?

I also weighed the components. The plane is a real pig! I can't believe how over built some of the parts are.
Fuselage: 1550 g
Wing with nacelles: 3620 g
Tail parts: 270 g
Cowls: 292 g
Accessories: 213 g
Landing gear set: 1208 g

Total: 7153 g

Yes, mine is the same. I bought some Tamiya paint in spray which seems to be very close: TS-64 Dark Mica Blue. I did not not paint them yet as I did not start building the plane...

Regarding the weight, it is true it is heavy, but it is not a 3D plane either...

It's no 3D plane, but it won't fly very scale either at this weight. The wing area is about the same as a 70" Spitfire but the weight is 50% higher. I'll try to eliminate some weight here and there. I plan to go electric with home made props and gear reduction. I usually (not always) end up lighter than the dry glow weight with my conversions.

Great to ear this. I will also motorize mine with electric: 2 x Turnigy SK 50-65 380kV on 6S 5000mAh with 17x10 propeller. For the servos, to keep it light I will put HS-5245MG everywhere, but the rudder. As I have a spare Hyperion DS20 UMD, I think I will use it. For the battery position, if I have no CG problem, I will put them in the engine pod, otherwise in the fuselage... If you could post your setup, it would be great!

Cool! I have not decided on a setup yet, but like you I plan on using light servos. I will buy some TGY AerodriveXp 42 SK Series 42-50 650Kv / 1150w to see if they can stand up to 1000 W. If they are not up to the job I will look for other motors to use. I will make a belt reduction drive to spin two home made three blade 21" scale props on either 6S or 8S as I have done before on my warbirds. I plan to make a hatch in the grey exhaust area on the top of each nacelle to install batteries.

Are vacuum formed PVC parts for the inside of the gear doors supposed to be included with the kit? There were none included with my plane or landing gear set, yet the instructions shows them on page 18.

I wondered the same thing. Seemed weird to have such a small and cheap part as an accessory you have to purchase separately, especially as they will make a big difference to the strength of the doors. I looked at getting some but the freight to the other side of the world was ridiculous. Making up ply versions for mine [&o]

Mime not included so I bought Robart hing door and it not cheap 10 dollars for 2. I plan to order the door kit from TBM but they ran out at that time.

Thanks. What is included in the gear door set? Are actuator cylinders included? If so then it's great value.

Looks like they are. On the vid it said "you get lots of these cylinders - everything is worked out for you". Looks like a complete package including screws etc...

I'm ordering a set along with some 5" wheels and some other stuff. Saves me time and money. Nice shop.

Yeah, TBM seems like they actually have it all worked out well. Nice to see a seller that isnt just dumping the kits and leaving you hanging in the breeze not sure how to complete the damn thing. I really like the review vids. Shows you way more than a couple of marginal photos and gives you a better feel for the plane. I bought my Twinsysnc from them - very nice. My only complaint is that it was missing the girls they were advertised with. Still, that probably saved me time and money too!

Hi T-Cat guys, Went to a War Bird Fly-In at Madera Air Field, CA. Sat 20 March. I had the only twin engine aircraft. I must say I WOWed the people. I flew 3 flights with Super Speed VERY low passes and smooth aerobatics. My engines start with first touch of my starter and the painted props really show off the running engines. I have my engines (Fuji 23s with mags) turning APC 16x8 props at 8400 RPM top end and 2000 on the low end. My engines HUM in sync at all speeds. What impressed many spectators and other pilots was as I taxied in after a great flight I aimed the nose of my Tiger at the crowd and would shut the engines down and both would STOP at exactly at the same time. My Tiger weighs 31 lbs. Yes it's HEAVY, but It sure flies great. Col. Chuck Winter

Hi all Ray here new tigercat owner just opened the box this evening to find instructions say wing mounting tubes should be 30x620 found them to be 25x620 to small for the wings and nacells has anyone else come across this problem before this is a new esm kit. i have orderded the retracts from vq models very good price compared to uk. I am putting 91 four strokes in my cat is this enough power for this aircraft.How much nose weight do you need to put in to get the cg correct and what is the figure for the cg.

Hi Ray, I believe any question you have is already answered on the F-7F forum. I have many, many posts on this form way back almost one year ago. If you have a full fiber glass F-7F (No Plastic film wing covering) and if it's like my KMP Kondor model, it will weight in the upper 20 pounds to what mine weighs, 31 pounds. I originally had 2 RCV 91 engines and was no where near close to SAFE power. I would guess that your selection of 91 four cycles will be very minimal safe power. REMEMBER, you can't have too much power on a twin engine aircraft. Why don't you weigh all of the parts of your Tiger so you can get a feel as to what the final weight may be. Have FUN Col. Good Morning

I am on the road and cannot take pictures but will when I get back at the end of next week. Mains are an easy install, nose a little more work but not tough. Compared to the early gear clearly worth the money and the effort. Have Evolution 26's for power and am very satisfied with that setup.

Thanks Guys, they are look very nice, for the nose gear how it steer? i didn't see the arm like KMP one. The main gears looks very strong. Still love to see how it mounted to the frame special the nose gear setup.
