Magoo,

It is guys like you, Ron and Dougie that really bring out the best in these events. You guys do the after hours hospitality. Just wish it would have been warmer at night.

The rub arrived yesterday. (Sorry Scott) Used it on some grilled Chicken Breast. It is fantastic. [sm=thumbup.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=tongue_smile.gif]

It's just my way of contributing to the event... I really enjoy the cookin and the hangin, so I try and make it fun for everybody that shows... it's what I do.

I'm more giver than taker, and I enjoy myself so much at these things it's my home grown method of paying my way... Earnin my admission if you will!!!!

It's pretty cool that I would be thrown in with Ronald and Dougie, being the "new guy", thanks Quisty....

no its a Rodenator! You hold down the trigger and shoot propane and oxygen mix into the hole, then hit the pain button. I tend to forget to count how long I am holding down the trigger of love and usually get lifted off the ground! Its an actual product, we did not invent it.

I was lucky enough work put me in Bakersfield over the weekend and happened to find out about the event. I was looking for a LHS and found CE Hobbies on the web. They had the event on their website. I attended on Saturday and saw the demo flights and stayed till the end. I was amazed a how many flights were put in and the flying was awesome. I've never seen rc jets in person and was blown away by the "full scale" detail put into some of the planes. I am farely new to the hobby and fly nitro and gas and this was the first RC show I have attended. I really enjoyed it and plan on making more shows as I can. Hopefully they will be as good as this one.

Thanks to everyone who put on the event and to the pilots who made the trip to fly. It was quite the experience.

So glad you could make the event. Quite an event for your very first one ever. I'm afraid you'll find yourself a little spoiled once you attend other events.
You attended on of the largest of it's kind and saw the pinnacle of model aviation.
Hope you make it back again next year.

Here are a few of my photos from the event. You'all have already posted some incredible shots!!

Great event for sure and the CA Jets gang was incredibly hospitable. Kenny, you made Don and I feel like celebrities ... which we are not! But thanks man! And very nice chatting with you about video stuff Paul.

I might ask a few dumb questions here but I am gathering info for a little article I am on the hook to write.

What was the name of the flight line boss? That man deserves kudos for keeping the action going all day Saturday! Is there a place I can see a concise list of the sponsors and this years award winners? I have poked around the CA Jets web site a bit but not seeing what I am after?

I may PM a few of you to make sure I get my info straight on the planes too. Thanks in advance for any time you can spare in answering me.

Thanks much, Jon

This is my plane. It is an Aviation Design F-16. 1/6.9 scale powered by a Jetcat 160SX. It uses a Matrix landing gear.

Me too, looks like some $$ glass. Yup, just Wed-Fri for me. First time I've missed Saturday but I did get a lot of flying in, no complaints from here at the end of the day. Looking forward to your article.

I thought I already posted these... guess I didn't, so here are more for those guys (or gals??) who might need another Cal Jets break.

Jon,

Flight line boss on Saturday was Mike Valdez. He is a BARKS member. We haven't got him in a jet yet, but he is a very serious scale warbird builder. He is also our local Dupont Paints rep. Makes it handy when you have a paint question.

Even more important is he was able to think on his feet, he could asses a situation and make adjustments on the fly...a very well run situation!

Thanks folks, for the info on Mike. I was really impressed with the non-stop action all day Saturday. My shutter release finger tip was bruised by end of day.

Hey, if I may, another question:

Does anybody have any info on the big orange F-4 that flamed out?
