Supervee 27 Discontinued?
I was looking to pick up another supervee 27 for some summer fun and see they were backordered on Tower Hobbies last week and now they are listed as discontinued. Anyone know if aquacraft will be replacing the supervee with an updated model or is it gone for good and have to hunt it down on ebay or go nitro?

I thought it would be upgraded to the 2.4 also. Reb, it does show on order on the main page, however, when ya go in to order a specific color boat it then says discontinued for each color. I hope they just update the boats to 2.4ghtz but i bet they move to lipo just so long as the esc will let me use Nimh batteries im ok...as ive not upgraded to lipo yet

RE: Supervee 27 Discontinued?
Reb,
I have one I purchased last year and was trying to pick up another for my son and is why I came across the discontinued status. My luck will be they will move to lipo forcing me to upgrade my battery packs and chargers as all my battery packs are Nimh 6-7 cells...

RE: Supervee 27 Discontinued?
I guess it depends on whats required to operate the boat. Im running 6-7 cell in my boat now if lets say they go lipo will i have enough room to fit my old packs in the boat without mods, will the esc work with the nimh packs. After spending $$$$ on these packs and chargers im just not in a position right now to fork out more $$$ for lipo batteries, chargers, cell balancers etc. The move to lipo has come very fast since I switched from nitro and I can understand why and its a move I will eventually make, if i can get by for a while longer with the older packs I will....take care

RE: Supervee 27 Discontinued?
I have a tungy 120 ESC in my second boat. Once you know how it's, very easy to "program" with the transmitter. I'd hope they'd do something like that with it. It would just be a matter of choosing the lipo voltage cutoff (one of the options is 'off'). As far as the pack size, I don't think there would be an issue switching back and forth between Nimh and lipo. If they upgrade the radio they could leave the hole out of the canopy. Maybe go to a solid waterjacket. I can't beleive nobody has produced one out of hard plastic.

I would like to see an upgraded sv with the ul-1 esc, the tactic radio, and some battery trays with more adjustability. Maybe some new graphics? The sv is a great beginner rtr with a lot of potential. It was my first brushless boat and is still one of my favorites to drive!

My bet is they will have a new version with the upgraded UL-1 esc, the new 1800kv UL-1 style motor that is coming in the new catamaran and the 2.4g Tactic radio

That would be sweet if they did that, although they may need to issue a disclaimer if they do. That boat is the most radical RTR from a pilot standpoint that I know of. Not many RTR's are that harry out of the box. Running lipos and a better power system will only make it wilder. No way they'd dis-con that boat. It's still selling well. Many clubs have a race cat just for it.

I agree, I don't think this boat will go away..
and with better electronics, this mono will really be sweet!
some clubs have a SV class, and they are very popular

I hope not months. It would seem logical if they were going to revamp the boat that they would have started before ending the SV line currently on the market for a quick transition.....but hey i dont run a model boat company either, lol....I guess my aquacraft harbor tug will have to do for the summer, lol......

Word is out on the new SV (if they keep the name)
possibly it will have a new motor, new cooling on the esc, black hardware, port side turn fin, and Tactic radio!
YES!
