An MVVS 1.60 will take her up with almost unlimited verticals. With a tuned pipe, the verticals will be out of sight.

I would suggest two things:

1. You will get a lot more replies if you post this in the warbird forum.

2. Assuming you defintely want a gasoline powered engine I would suggest that you take a look at the mt35. this is a new engine but looks like it has good performance. Valley View rc seems to be a good vendor and they sell these engines. But I don't know if it will fit lengthwise in this plane - it has a rear mounted carb which would minimize the need to cut the cowl though. You may need to get an aftermarket muffler if you want to further minimize cowl cutting.
