What is this plane??
I recently purchased this plane and I have no idea what it is and what the power system ran for a prop. If I can I was thinking of going ahead with the brushed system but I have no idea on what size of a direct drive prop for a Graupner 1600-5 12volt Best NR. 1792 motor and the older than hills FX 35 Digital 50 amp esc. Would also like to see what brushless set up would work or some ideas on how to size one for the plane. Here are some pics.[img][/img]

RE: What is this plane??
Did you wana go with an inrunner like the brushed setup you had or an outrunner. I can gurantee you probably couldn't get it to go a 100 with the brushed setup.

Which ever woould be faster and lighter. The motor that was in it is the absolute largest diameter that will fit throught the nose with out serious mods. It is 1.77 inches or 45.17 mm wide and 77.77 mm long or 3.06 inches . The output shaft is 4mm.

RE: What is this plane??
Assuming because you want to go fast I would recommend a direct drive inrunner setup. I haven't worked with inrunners all that much but I would try an Electrifly 36-50-1500 as a pretty good starting point it should get it in the air and going pretty fast. Props is another thing try an APC 5.25x6.25 Speed 400 Prop. You may need to go a to 6inch but start with the 5. Usually the more cells the more power to the motor but the more cells also the more weight the motor runs a 4s-6s lipo so I would run the 6s but use a smaller battery size (mAh) in order to keep a lighter weight but you will give up some flight time. I have no clue though how many amps it would draw so ESC I can't really tell you. Hope this helps.
