Phoon, If I were you I would get Aerofly 5 from overseas. I have AFPD and l love the software. I am going to order Aerofly 5. I have tried most of the higher end simulators on the market and I think Aerofly is the best. You can not go wrong with this system. It might not provide you with all of your needs but it will come close plus the AFPD & the Areofly 5 forums will help with any questions you have. Mike has done a good job answering all your questions. Hope you buy him a drink someday.

15) Users have made comments that Real Flight no longer accurately models the flight character of many aircraft sold with it. In order to boost sales of actual model aircraft, for example the warbirds, Real Flight is said to make these model airplanes easier to fly on their simulator than they actually are in practice. Is it the Aerofly company's philosophy to honestly and accurately model parameters (to the extent technically possible)? Can you state that Aerofly does NOT follow such deceptive marketing strategies? Does Aeerofly accurately model the flight character of model planes?
One thing I like about Aerofly is that it isn't run by people with "other" interests in mind, like selling their planes.
Even without "easying" them the "other sims" rarely include more than aircraft that their sister companies sell.

By default, it comes in mode 2 but you can convert it to mode 2 by making some simple mechanical adjustments inside.

I noticed on the ikarus online store there is a mac version of AFPD upgrade to AF5, if i order this will i need to get a new cable as well or will it use my AFPD cable as the key? will this give me full access to all of the features in AF5 and will it import my older planes as well?

Rieter, the AF5 upgrade does not include any cable as you will be using the AFPD cable. AFPD models and sceneries are not compatible with AF5. New models are available through patches which you can download for free, and third party models will be available in the future.

Mike, I have a newer Mac ( intel based) and I have I spectrum DX6i. What do I need to get started with this system. How do I hook up my radio? Do I need a cord or interface and where do i buy it. I found the Mac software at Tower Hobbies. Thanks.
