Default transmitter case

Seen a couple around and would like to get one. Where are folks getting them? Pros and cons of any? Prefer one that will hold two xmitters.
Thanks
Shaggy

Here's what I use. It's from Lowe's and is only $25. It's pretty much the same case that Tower sells for $45. It comes with foam that is perforated into blocks so it's easy to tear it out in the shape you need for your transmitters. It easily holds two transmitters. I've got 3 of them and they easily take care of all my radios.

Metal Case from Lowe's

Hope this helps

RCKEN, that is interesting. I have bought thoae cases from Home Depot and have never seen them at Lowes. If Lowe's has it with the foam, that is a better deal as the same case sells at Home Depot for $25 and then I have to buy the foam from an upholstery shop.

Just a tip: Never set up a transmitter case so that the antenna is pointing down when you carry it normally. Doing so could mean serious damage should you drop the case.

Plano gun cases work well. I got a 'transmitter' case from Advantage hobby and it was just a pistol case.

I got mine from Harbor Freight for $20 with no foam.
I have a large supply of foam from a friend who gets
his medicine in the mail.
I also found that the foam cuts very nicely with a band saw.
My two transmitters, spare battery and 2.4 module are
comfortably and professionally nestled in for transport.
Good Luck,

Any gun shop or sporting goods store. When they have the sale on the plastic pistol cases they are very cheap. I have also gotten the one like Kens from Lowe's for a gift to a student.

Hi Shaggy,

Here in Oz I bought an aluminium brief case designed to carry camera gear from the $2.00 shop for under $20.00, (yea, yea, I know it wasn't $2.00). It came complete with foam which I cut to hold two transmitters. Cheap, cheerful and has been doing the job of protecting the TX's and making them easier to carry/transport for at least seven years.

Cheers,

Colin

I have an aluminum case that holds two radios that I bought online, but the same case is sold at Lowes. We have someone at our field that has a soft Futaba case and that is what I would love to have even though I have a DX7 but I cannot find one anywhere.

Apparently, they made them back in the day and do not make them anymore. It has excellent padding and fits a single radio and would work for me very well for my weekend flying as I do not even take my aluminum case anymore...too bulky for one radio.

If anyone knows someone that wants to sell a softcase MADE for a radio let me know. As far as I know Futaba may have been the only one that made that type of case. If the price is reasonable I would be interested in it.

I use an old video camera case that I found on the clearance table in the camera shop where I work. I had to remove the organizer and order a foam insert for it. It holds one radio and a few accessories.

Funny, when I was using my old 4ch futaba, a radio case was the last thing I thought about buying, but when I got my 7C, it became a priority.

Just bought 1 at lowes a couple days ago. It fits two transmitters perfectly and comes with foam in one side, the bottom. Now I need some foam for the other side, the top. Not. Bad for only 25 bucks.

Go online and you will find the foam filled case (as opposed to the same case with dividers or partial foam) on the Lowes website. You can order it online and have it delivered for the same price as your local store. Why spend time and gas searching? IIRC, I paid around $25.00 for mine. Thanks; Ernie P.
