Andy,
My bad, read the wrong line for the N number. The above post is corrected.
FWIW - N54SH, s/n F5-011, colors are;
Base - 674 Red
Stripe - 99 Black
Accent - 8066 Gold
By the way guys, Waco Classic Aircraft http://www.wacoclassic.com/index.html has changed their web page with more color pictures, links to their Blog, a 360° view of the new Waco D rear cockpit (the basic frame work for the YFM Super (C model) is unchanged) with upgraded avionics and stuff. Take a look at the Blog, store and other sections to learn more. Wish I had the $$$ for a new Waco.[]

Base - N8076U Blue (possibly Dupont Lauderdale Blue Metallic)
Stripe - 7372U White
Accent - 31UH Orange (possibly Dupont Omaha Orange).

You are correct - those are Dupont Imron numbers and the names match those numbers as far as I could find out.

Skylarkmk1-
What can you tell me about the colors used on N89B F5-006? It appears to be a green metallic with gold trim.
Thanx-
Skipb
RE: [Awaiting Approval]
The FAA lists N89B, s/n F5-006 is a 1987 WCA YMF. The list I have for the colors of the first 47 WCA aircraft lists s/n F5-006 as N1VD which is a 1972 Deluca OR-71, is obviously wrong. The colors listed for s/n F5-006 are;
Base – 81501 Blue
Stripe – 508 White
Accent – 42880 Gold
Remember these are the colors of the aircraft as it left the factory and it may have been re-covered and re-painted since 1987.

RE: [Awaiting Approval]
Here are two pictures of how I have started building a tail wheel set up. When I pulled up the balsa block there was a LOT of epoxy drips and smears which can be seen a little bit.

Neil, that is looking good, you may want to put a little caster in your tail wheel wire, are you going to run a slave rod off the rudder or use a separate servo?

I was planning on adding castor oil and am planning on running another servo.

That is what I did on the first WACO, and the one I am building now. I also modifed the tail wheel setup on two Great Planes Super Stearman. Slave'd the servo to the rudder channel, works real well and not much weight. Keep us posted on your progress

Sorry I was not used to that term being used. I did not think about it but I think I will. About how many degrees? Around 5? Here is a picture of the slave rod that I made. It is a 4-40 thereaded rod rod with a peice of pushrod cable soldered to the end. There is a peice of brass tubing that is over the joint.

Depending on where you mount the tailwheel, your angle of caster should be somewhere around the 40-45 degree range. Have a look at some of the scale jobs. You can index them on the first page of this thread.

Look at [link]http://inzspan.com[/link] for scale cockpit accessories including nice harnesses. I have used their stuff and it is really high quality. Also [link]http://vogelsang-aeroscale.com[/link] is a new distributor for the Barth kits and there is also some nice scale accessories including harnesses. Again all high quality stuff. Don

Very Nice Arno
I am building the 33% AMR Waco and I am getting close to the painting stage. I will be doing a similar paint scheme I am copying NC14132. It is an original Waco built in 1935. The wings and the fuse had insignia blue scallops over white with gold trim.

RE: [Awaiting Approval]
Nice work Arno. I'm with the rest of the guys here-what paint? What masking material? What clear coat? I'm just finishing up paint on my Ikon UPF-7, painted with latex. Looks pretty OK but masking was a bear. The hunt is on for a suitable clear gloss finish that's compatible with the latex. I figured I could use Nelson's clear as a plan B, but I'm searching for something else to try first. There's a wide array of clear coats out there, some much better than others. I'm so confused, I don't know if I need a full frontal lobotomy or a full bottle in front of me

RE: [Awaiting Approval]
Morning all (or is it Goodnight)
The masking is a lowtack vinyl based material from Avery Graphix(www.averygraphics.com) cut in a std vinyl cutter. Took photos of the model to my local signage shop and the graphix dude designed the masks on my photos after scaling them to the correct size (perfect fit everytime).
Paints are automotive(Basecoat and Cleatcote) from my local paintshop (MS Primer Blanco White Std Black and HellBlau(actually a Ferrari colour) and normal 2K ClearCote by ChemSpec). I tried hard to find the correct paint no in SA but couldn't so just went with the TLAR method If the weather holds (80% rain for today and tomorrow) the model will be cleared by Friday so i'll post some pics of it fully assembled.
Thanx for the compliments
