Senior Falcon from Early RC
I have almost finished my Senior Falcon built from an Early RC Models laser cut kit. It went together without any problems and I have fitted a K&B .61 pump engine.
It is covered with dacron and painted with Auto Acrylic paint. The Fuse is glassed. I just need to give it a coat of Two Pack clear and it will be ready to fly. I learned to fly one many years ago (late 60's). I have fitted Hitec digital servos and a 2.4 Futaba radio.
Regards

The Senior Falcon is one of my all time favourite models. Well done on a great building and finishing job. I look forward to hearing how the Sr Falcon flies.

It weighs 6 1/2 pounds now without the clear coat. I expect it to come out just over 7 pounds. The ARF version that Tower Hobbies sells can weigh up to 7 pounds so mine should fly OK. The old K&B .61 has plenty of power.

RE: Senior Falcon from Early RC
Hi Tommy,
I built and flew a Sr Falcon from an original CG kit many moons ago. The wing was secured with rubber bands!
I did not cut the tank cover where it is on the LE 0f the wing, I held it down with a single rubber band.
On its first flight I was a bit over-enthusiastic with the Up Elevator. The wing lifted and the tank cover snapped down UNDER the LE.
This was an early flight, under tuition. The model started to do consecutive tight loops (OS 58) so I gave the Tx to my tutor who cut
the throttle and brought it down fully stalled using rudder only.
The model lived to fly again that same day but without the tank cover and more wing bands.
I love the finish on your Sr Falcon, best of luck when you fly.

RE: Senior Falcon from Early RC
Well, the Senior Falcon flew today!!
it was very windy but it was the first sunny day for a week, so I decided to risk it. The Falcon took of straight and flew without any trim adjustments required.
I only had one flight as the Old K&B stopped after a few minutes and I had a deadstick landing, which the Falcon handled perfectly.
After flying Turbine models the Falcon was a breeze to fly. I will get out again next week and fine tune the trimming.
