What airplane would you like to see kitted at .40 or .60 size?

RE: What airplane would you like to see kitted at .40 or .60 size?
There should be a choice in the pole for a 26-30cc gas size kit. There are many really good 26-30cc gas engines coming out and the plane for that size is not much bigger that a 60 size. I would think that do to the cheaper cost of building and flying a 26-30cc gas plane it will become a new standard in kits/arfs. There are already lots poping up in the mainstream for arfs. Go look at greathobbies. They have a number of 26cc size planes available now.
The main reason why I also fly gas. One gallon of nitro gives me about 10 flights in my goldberg ultimate. One gallon of gas gives me about 30 flights of equal time with my extra 260 (50cc) Often I buy 2 gallons of gas per 2 weeks @ about $12 total with oil mix and I always have some left over... I am told by my hobby guy that projected nitro cost this year will be $30+ per gallon for 15% nitro, not to mention the 30% that us power freaks use...
Not to mention the cost of the engine:
DL 30 (gasser) $345 CAN
MLD-28 (gasser) $300 CAN
Saito 180 (nitro) $490 CAN
YS170 (nitro) $700+ (lol)
Seriously, I would FAR FAR rather have a 30cc gasser P-47 (for example) than a 60 size like the top flite job.

When I mean a nice kit I mean a over all good looking airplane that looks like the airplane being modeled and is a good quallity kit. My beef with all the beaver kit's and ARF's on the market right now is they don't look like the real thing but I might be overly critical because I work around them all summer in Alaska.

Ok! There were a lot of great kits out there that no longer exist or at least are not being produced. I have a question related to these. I have an old VK Cherokee kit complete, and no I don't want to sell it. My question is if it is not produced anymore, and we have a complete kit available for a pattern, how or who could produce more of them? Thanks Tim

Globe Swift, Culver Cadet, Monocoupe, Howards (civvy and racing jobs). Eaglerock, Burd and other early bipes. How about some of the Russian warplanes: I-16, -152 etc. Japanese warbirds (not another Zero although I like it) are pretty: Saiun, Myrt, Kate, Ki-100, tec. Maybe some 2-holer WWI jobs.

I would like to see the Royal kits made again. They had good scale outlines in the 40 to 60 range. If you decide on the Ace 4-? series planes send me a PM I can help with some of them.

I'm on board with the Waco YMF and the Mooney 20. Also would like to add a Yak 54 and (here's a reach) the Great Planes Reactor bipe.

How about the "Super Duallist" 2/60
Or a DH Mosquito bomber along the lines of the BT 81" but done as a full on kitset.
Just my 2 cents worth

I've allways wondered why no-one kitted the Kitfox. I would also like to see a Mitsubishi a5m claude, and a model of the new Pipersport.Sorry if I'm a bit late to the party.

Hi,
if they could bring back the Top flite FW-190 D9 I'd be a happy guy! And of course all the old
Royal kits.

BT-13! Vultee Vibrator gets my vote. No retracts, flies like a trainer cause it is. Every WW2 pilot flew these.

The Golden Age planes, Ryan STA, Wedell-WIlliams Red Lion, and some of the not so well known which are really cool, Lindberg Laird Turner Meteor, Lockheed Vega, NovoBristol 138A, Curtiss XF6C-6, Travel AIrmodel R, Avion Caudron C468 and the Deperdussian plus a zillion others.
There are alot of truely magnificent planes from the Golden Age.
I get a little tired of all the P-51's, Yak's, et al at the fields. THey are cool, but let's goback in time a little! Something new and different, getting you a ton of looks at the field, who knows, even some of these young whipper snappers will learn that there were some truly great planes back in the day.
.60 size prefered.
