RE: Graupner Inspiration build thread-Flown
Hi Sandor
Sounds good. My Inspiration is still waiting in the hangar. I decided to start flying jets with the Wild Hornet. But I'm gonna be ready for the Inspiration soon!
Where do I get a titan thrustpipe? Lots of modification necessary?

I'm guessing he means titanium. The Inspiration uses a stock size tube, Didi makes one that fits.

Hi Dave
Perfect, thank you. I have to talk to Didi anyway. I'm not sure who is going to do the service on my Evojet Booster 90 and change the nozzle. I'm a bit confused about the new situation on the market. Three times almost the same engine with different colors.

just call jetcat ask for andi meyer
give him the size you need and one week later you have it.
just take out the old innerpipe and exchange it with the titan one.
saves a lot of weight in the nose section

Hello
I have read all the thread and my choice for christmas will be the Inspiration and a P80SE but I have a question about the kit.
i have seen that there is the cover set for the stab and the wings but could you tell me if there is the fuse cover or not in the kit?
Thanks a lot for your reply.
Best regards.

Maybe one of the Inspiration pilots can jump in.

P80 will not fit. Even the P70 is a squeeze.
This aeroplane was designed around the Booster 80 (and named brothers) case size. If you want the same for a P80SE it's called an Ultra Flash
If you have patience, the new JetCat-But don't ask a del date as it is not known.

RE: Graupner Inspiration build thread-Flown
Flew my Inspiration again today at Honington and since lightening the model with a new lighter tail pipe and smaller Rx batteries it really does go well. I've now turned down the Booster 80 from 165K to 163K max revs as the extra power isn't really necessary. Conditions weren't the best and rain eventually stopped play, but it was good fun while it lasted

Must be boring with that extra power and lighter weight
Was a nasty day, but since I hadn't flown it since visiting Jersey in July I decided it needed an airing.
Hawk arrived?

I also flew mine again today with the Merlin 90. Really getting the jet dialled in now, I like the wide speed range, will slow to almost walking pace with flaps fully down and at the top end it is balistic with unlimited vertical. Economy is also good 10 mins with maybe 1/2 litre still left on an average mixed speed flight. I'm using the standard pipe which works really well and is bullet proof.

Dave,
Looks like you have it set up nicely now. Comes in shorter than it takes off which makes a nice change.

RE: Graupner Inspiration build thread-Flown
I have been experimenting with installing a smoke system in my Inspiration, the initial system has fitted without too much trouble using a Dubro 20oz tank, PB smoke pump and 2 cell LiFe pack. The 20oz Dubro gives around a minute of what looks like good smoke so should be able to use it on several manouvers. I also have a similar shaped 24oz Sullivan slant tank which will also fit to give a little more duration.
Airframe mods were limited to a couple of minutes with the dremel on the rear canopy flange, hardwood pump fitted in the v between the intakes and battery between mid canopy flange and top of intake. A hole was then drilled through the carbon exhaust for the injector, I have fitted just a single injector for now and smoke seems reasonable.

RE: Graupner Inspiration build thread-Flown
hi all.....interesting thread........having crossed over from heli's for the last few years and swearingI would never buy a turbine........
I now I hope have cut my teeth on a Boomerang/Wren 54 and a Falcon 120/kingtech k80,so now looking for something a little sharper
the Graupner Inspiration caught my eye......and at reasionable cost.......so is it a good step into a ''real'' sports jet......are there any tricky bits in the build I should be aware of
and is there space for most 80 sized turbines..not that the Kingtech is portly by any means....which is the power plant I was hoping to glue in.....so whats the verdict......
go for it or go fishing instead.....all view and comments taken on board

Adrian?
The Inspiration is a great model, cross between the Spark and Ultra Flash-but turbine diameters are limited (on purpose) and you wouldn't easily get a 112mm dia turbine in it. It was designed for a sub 100mm turbine. Easy flying aeroplane.
Call if you want more info 01923 270405
