I'm still debating on that one. I thought of just sanding it with 400 wet dry then use 2 coats of the white base first so one would be kind of a primer.

BUT............... The piant original paint lines are quite large and I'm afraid that they will show though badly, so I might have to use some grey body filling primer, sand as much back off as I can and see where to go from there.

I'll just have to get started on it and figure out a plan as I go I guess, But I will keep ya posted!

let me know. I had been using grey filler primer then just spraying over that and its not working. I'm thinking I need a white base after the primer then the red on mine at least.

yes, regardless of how you do your prep, if your using base/clear you should paint an all over white base first, even if you keep it alittle thin like in areas that you will mask and paint a seperate color, that is how we always go and so far it has always worked!

Just to be clear on the white base........is a white base nothing more than the same white I would use if the final color was to be white or is there a special white base?

Yes they are the same. The white under the color just helps the color reflect light better making it look more even, and in many cases I have found, match better.

I'll be repainting my wheel pants this week (again) so I'm going to try with a white base to see how it works out.

Well I was a little shocked, UPS went ahead and delivered my stuff from Smart-Fly on Saturday![X(] So I'll play nice and let them keep their money! lol!

Anyway, after a long weekend of family things and only getting to tinker, got to work last night on putting everything in place although I may still have to move batteries around.

Here are pix!

Got the firewall glued in. Then I pinned it with 3/16 by 3/4 long peices of hardwood dowel, and finished it with 2 oz. fiberglass cloth glued in by 5 min epoxy thinned to a brushable consistancy with laqor thinner.

Worked great!! PIX!!!

I should have some pics of mine from over the weekend. I had some issues though. My hall sensor had a wire pull out of it so I lost a whole day of flying trouble shooting. Borrowed one from another plane and the motor was running good except in a hover or long upline. I'd get a little backfire type sound.

Got some work to do to figure it out. The motor has never done any of that before.

Good to find a local on here. How the heck do you set the Center of Gravity? I have never done it the way described in the book. Any tips on where to balance in relationship to tip of front wing.

bipeguy03, shoot me an email at [email protected]. I am a kenton alumni. I would love to start this thing up tonight but need some help to hold it so I can test the smoke.

Heard that September-ish the new Ulti will be avail and it would be in a new PAU scheme.

For balancing........

1. Take off top wing, put bottom wing on, you can leave the cabanes off or on

2. lift from the center hole in the cabane. Balance there for maiden then adjust to your liking.
