RE: RCAero JC Engines & YDA Engines
I really wish I could have been there. I had a stressful day and would have much rather been flying. Glad I could be a small part in it. When you start planning your next one let me know. I'll block off that week way in advance. And give a better prize next time too!
Glad it cleared enough to go ahead with it though!

Hey Tom,
Well done organising the fun fly.
I would have loved to be there. Maybe if this becomes an annual event, I might make it over there and see you guys?
I'll try to bribe Steve to come with

My son got one of the servos and told me to thank you. He said it was the best door prize he ever had.

Proposed date is the weekend after Memorial Day. I stole this date from My other Club that I belong to and they want it back.
But it has to be approved by the Club first.

I'd love to have one of those self contained campers.

Now if only that muffler pipe was not sticking out like that who would be sure it was not a full scale on a fly by.

RE: RCAero JC Engines & YDA Engines
Hi Bill,
I flew my 96" Cessna 152 for the first time yesterday. A perfect plane for the 28cc.
http://www.austars-model.com/disprde...08071148266213
I had some misgivings upfront if this was going to be enough engine for a 96", 7Kg plane rated for 26-40cc but I had more than enough power.
Very smooth running and good acceleration.
This was on an 18x8 prop

I
Love the news about the Cessna 152 , and that was plenty of power , I,m counting on power from this engine . And from what I have already witnessed , it,s a power house .
Well ,.................... I,ve been busy . I have installed a JC-28cc in a CMPro , Zero 120 , I picked it up second hand and has never flown . It came with a RCV 120 , in almost new condition . For my own personal preference , I,m rebuilding all the servos and control hardware . ( I,m fussy , I hate sloppy mechanics ) . I kept all the rods perpendicular , as much as possible . And I also kept it snug , especially for the low end , where it counts . I don,t mind all the weight I need up front . These models always comes out tail heavy , and to a warbird , thats death .
Also . I changed my choke set-up from that spingy set-up , to an indented set-up . I did this by just drilling the indents on the shafts and added a ball and spring to the carb body . ( the spring and choke I got from an old carb , that had an indent system )
Here are some pictures
BTW ,.............. on the second from last picture you can see the up-step on the prop shaft

Hey Michel,
I love the way you have done the throttle linkage!
A mate has one of those Zero's and she flies great. I think you will really like it

Awsome photo!
You wouldn't have any photos closeup of the engine installation and particularly any cowl cuts you had to make?
I'm in tough negotiations with the Minister of War and Finance for a budget for one of those. I used to have the 85.5" Taylorcraft (the original Minicraft one) and loved it.
I flew that plane on a G26 (magneto) and she was great. One of the best flying planes I have had
