RE: Two new F3A outrunners from Hacker
I ask Hacker if the Q80 was a direct bolt-in replacement for the C50. Here's their response: Thank you very much for the mail. A direct replace is not possible, the Q80 is mounted with 4x M5, diameter of the srewcircle 32mm. this is because the large diameter of this motor.

Yes but still far more expensive than Axi 5325 series, at least in EU!
If I remember correctly it was 2 months ago that in one of my posts I wrote that Hacker has to come out with new outrunner(s) for F3A coz A60S series is not competitive enough, but making something different just as per se (like Q80) to be able to ask more money for it, sorry but not for me!
I have 4 smaller Hacker motors and 4 Hacker ESC, but on my 2m bird I will put an 5325/24!

Looks like the Q80 is now available in Hungary at least...
Has anyone tried one yet?
I'm curious to see how this motor goes.
Cheers
Jason.

G'day Andrew,
I look forward to hearing how the Q80 goes in your Spark...
It's certainly a novel design that looks pretty trick.[8D]
Cheers
Jason.

Andrew, I was using a Whattmeter and it only went to 70 amps,so all my readings were 69 amps. I have this motor in the Twister that I bought from you a couple of years ago.

RE: Two new F3A outrunners from Hacker
You guys ever notice a harsh prop sound when pulling over the top of a humpty or hammer head? I never noticed it with my glow setups but I do with my electrics. I too had an outrunner pull the nose off of a plane before. It was a smaller .50 size pattern plane and Plettenberg. I was wondering if the gyroscopic effects on these thinner APC electric props were causing them to flex excessively which created a vibration that in turn transferred to the motor.... and that being a heavy rotating mass in the case of an outrunner was just too much for the airframe to handle. I'm too am now shy of front mounted outrunners.

Sorry guys, I have not been able to test this motor out yet as I have been out flying all over the country for my new job and no time to run it. Jason is in town this weekend and maybe I'll get him to help me get the numbers out for you guys. I'm very sorry about this.

Has anyone flown the Q80 yet?
Are you solid mounting these motors or rubber mounting them? If rubber mounting them are you using a rear support?
I have just received my motor and I am trying to work out what will be best.
Regards
Arthur

RE: Two new F3A outrunners from Hacker
Good timing for me to get onto this thread. I have been flying the Q80 and the Q60 both motors are working extremely well. I have about 20 flights on the Q80 and 3 flights on the Q60. I have attached both graphs to show the flights. Sorry but the Q80 flights are a couple of them together. These numbers are up at 4300 feet and the DA was around 7000 on both flights. Both of them have a ton of power but as of right now the Q60 has more power due to the higher Kv. I will be testing some other props shortly but both of these flights were on APC 21x14, Castle Creations Ice 80HV, Thunder Power 10s5000 mah packs.
