Default Speed Pinion Problem...

I have a small problem with the speed pinion i am trying to install in my e revo 1/16 vxl...
I have the stock pinion exposed, and i put in the right sized allen key (wrench) but every time i try to turn it, it just slips... its like the the set screw on the side of the pinion gear is too tight.

THanks

Any help or ideas why it would be doing this would be great.

Yeah, i figured that, but when i used a different allen key it worked fine.. i guess it was just the cheap  allen key i was given.

yes the traxxas wrenches suck. I'd invest in a pair of quality drives, i have been using these for 2 years now with NO problems, never stripped anything with them: http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-15-20-25-30mm

Ok thanks.
I'll look into a pair of buying something like that.
