The fan is a knockoff of an EVF and in its 4.5" version is close to an EVF in amp draw. I just use the shroud to convert an old BVM nitro fan to edf. The BVM rotor is 1.5mm too big to fit the shroud so the rotor has to be cut down a little. In combination with a Neu 1527 1.5y motor it is a powerful unit.

Is the shroud strong enough? How many flights and what sort of amps are you pulling?

It is plenty strong enough. I was pulling about 100 amps as I remember. The F-15 I had it in shredded on the fourth flight, but it had huge power. It got a 14# plane in the air in 30 feet. I'm in the process of installing it in my BVM Viper.
