t-maxx 3.3 tranny in .15 pro
i was told to switch the shafts between my trannys but the bearings in the .15 tranny are to small. what can i do?
are there any output shafts that are direct replacement?
any help appreciated
i have my 3.3 transmission, the output shafts from my truck to not fit onto the 3.3 tranny because the shaft is to large.
so i tried switching the old shafts from my .15 tranny to my 3.3 tranny but since they are not as wide they do not fit in the bearings that the 3.3 tranny uses. so i tried using the bearing from the .15 tranny but they are to small to fit in the tranny case.
so all in all.
my output shafts fit onto my .15 tranny not the 3.3
i cant use the shaft from my .15 tranny because the breaing hole is to large
i cant use the actualy bearing in the 3.3 tranny because i will not fit the case.
okay i did my best.
lmk if its better and you can help.

It is a 5mm shaft the same as the drive yoke on the shafts you have.
The .15 output shaft would not work even if you had the correct bearings.
The 4908/4907 3.3 extended chassis version uses the revo spec 6mm output shaft and is Forward only.
The 3.3 4908 transmission you have usesthe 6mm output shaft.
The 2.5R and 3.3(4909) Maxx tranny uses the 5mm shaft you need to fit the center shafts you have.
I believe the shaft is only availiablewith the kit.
The brake system from the 4909 (Blue hex system) will also make the install easier.
There are two versions of the 3.3 tranny. The early model 2.5R and short wheel base 4909 T Maxx use the smaller diameter output shaft and both come stock with reverse.

if not i would need to get the FOC you posted and the 4909 blue hex brake system?
The 4908 brake system uses a 2 pin front drive yoke to engage the brake disk. You would need the 4908 center shaft to use that system. You would also have to dremel the short chassis you have to allow clearance through the chassis for the larger diameter center shaft which requires you to cut into the mounting holes for the throttle/brake servo mount.
The 4909 brake setup uses the Hex Nut brake system much like your original .15 setup except with different brake pads/calipers. Using the 4909 brake setup will allow you to use your existing center shafts or upgrade to the 4909 center shafts which are much more durable than the smaller .15 shafts.
You will need the 4909 FOC shaft to use this setup.
The HPI .25 tranny and/or output shaft will not fit the truck and/or the transmission.
is this the FOC i need? i believe it appears different fromt eh one you posted snook.
and i cant find the brake system you are talking about? when i try to lookup parts they do not say 4909 or anything. they just say like 3.3. im having the hardest time with this.
thanks for all the help tho.
