RE: U Can Do 3D
NOTE : If a 91 4 stroke is used. Please slide fuel tank 6.5" back to servo tray . You will Love It! And no pump is needed.
(C.G. will have to move forward , around 5")

RE: U Can Do 3D
Doe anyone know how to get a direct replacement fuel tank for the u-can-do 46? If not, what tank can I get in there? I tried Tower Hobbies and they don't carry direct replacementsthey have very square tanks and this is cylindrical and I'm pretty sure is the same shape as the bulkhead. I'm getting back into flying after a couple of years away and my tank is split by the rubber plugleaked fuel all over the inside, so I'm hoping the dry-cleaning spray stuff does a good job drawing out the oil (worked before on another plane).

RE: U Can Do 3D
GPMQ4103 is the part # and i tried to do a search on Google and wow, everywhere is out of stock.
it's a 8oz tank. may want to go to one of those retailers web site and give them your email address so that way when they get it in stock, they can contact you.
That's the best i can think of.
or Post in the classified section a want Ad.
Hope this helps.

RE: U Can Do 3D
I would think any 8 oz tank would fit in there. Its a pretty large plane. Measure the width and length of the tank compartment and compare that to the specs of your favorite brand. Pack it in there with some foam and maybe a wood spacer or two and go for it. One thing, Be sure the fuel line (attached to the clunk) is level with the carb. One problem with the UCD is fuel siphoning because the tank is too high in the stock position. What I did to fix this was mount the engine upright.

gjeffers...
Hi back at ya. Good to see you are still here.
I fly mostly gas now. 50CC mostly. But I have a 100CC plane. Buy I still fly my UCD early in the spring or other times when I haven't flown for a while. Still love it.
What do you fly now days?
Thanks
Barry

RE: U Can Do 3D
havent done a whole lot of flying lately, still have my goldberg pitts w/saito 180. Superstar w/OS 160, and over the winter i built a 90 size P51D w/saito 125. but i am getting ready to order me a new UCD 60 and put another saito 125 in it. i sold my other one because i thought i was tired of it and a guy offered me good money for it, but now i realize it was the funest plane i had.the wind here in Nev does blow alot and that is what slowed me down. good to here from you!

RE: U Can Do 3D
Hi rclement...
Good to see you still on here. I have my 60 size UCD and fly it occasionally. It's still one of my favorite airplanes. Mine's really starting to show wear though. Many small dings and scratches. Not sure what I'll do if I lose it....
I'm really enjoying the gas airplanes now. I think they fly better in the wind, easier to see with old eyes and are generally better.....but I honestly don't think I have any more "fun" than I did with the UCDs. And I still can't get any of my gas airplanes to do a rising flat spin and all my UCDs will do them. Go figure.
I hope you and yours are doing great and wish you all the best.
Thanks
Barry

RE: U Can Do 3D
Thanks Barry, Good to hear from you. I'm glad you are having fun with the gas planes. I have a 46 Do that's still in the box, found it on Craigslist but mostly flying my Frenzy and 40 size profiles. I tried to step up to a larger plane and got an Aeroworks 120 Yak but I don't enjoy flying it. It doesn't seem to like to fly slower, it gets too snappy. I have an AX 120 on it and would like to fly a different plane for that but don't know what's out there for the 120 that would fly good without being too snappy or finicky. Looking for something 3d capable.

If it was me...for that engine, I'd try that new Funtana. Heard a lot of good things about it.
Thanks

OK, total newb here..Just flew my UCD 60 and fell in love...WOW that was fun. Flaperons are pretty cool...Never used em before. What are spoilerons and what do they do?
Again, I started flying in April this year.
Got the UCD to hover for me and had a blast. Knife edge seemed to want to favor the canopy..Not sure how to program that out yet...Just got a new JR 11X
SO MUCH TO LEARN

RE: U Can Do 3D
After 80 flights, my UCD bought the farm.( I was trying to knife edge to close to the ground.)
What I learned 91 Four stroke has same pull out as LA 65 with 14x4 prop.
* Mixing out K E is a waste of time. ( it changes with speed)
* 91 2 Stroke / 120 4 stroke was what this plane wants
* Forget 3 D and use a small engine / 4 ch rx and 256 rods provided.
* servo reverser not need
* standard BB servos work OK
* CG At 6" is not needed. Just pull fuel tank back to Thr. servo tray ( no pump needed)
* Wheel pants are still on! Just put epoxy on the stress spots after every session.
* this crash could have been avoided if I had a 120 up front.
* Save your 3 D money for a different plane.
I patched it up and I will try a smoke system, something I always wanted to do.
I want to see it at full thr. with a O S LA 65 with a 14x4 prop. Blowing smoke! ( I think it may hang together .)

RE: U Can Do 3D
if your talking about a 60 size then you should be ok, your about 5 oz heaver than a saito 125 so you may have to put the battery (and a few other items) in the rear of the fuse, but it should be ok.

Hey Barry !
Rising flat spin with a UCD 46? I heard a couple years ago,(maybe from one of your posts), that it can be done. I have done just about everything with my UCD except a rising flat spin. My favorite manuever is an inverted flat spin while on floats and it flat spins like a plate. Beautiful.
I have as OS 91 pumped and normally fly with a 14-6 prop. The floats weigh almost exactly 2 pounds.
If you want to share your method, I will be your disciple forever. I have been trying to do this but gave it up as futile (for me).
