YS 91 AC -(H)heli parts differences?
Hello,
Can someone tell me the parts differences in the "H" version of the 91 AC motors.
Can a prop be put on it with the correct collet and drive washer?- is the cam profile/timing different ?
I see the reg. set up is different.
Thanks,
Jake

No, I'm talking about the ys91AC -H
It's an air chamber 4stroke-made for helis in the 1990's-looks just like the plane version- just appears to have a different reg setup
Is the rest of the motor the same?
I would like to put a prop on it.

I might be late on this but thought I'd chime in. I recently saw one listed on ebay and as far as I can tell the crankshaft is shorter. I don't think it would make a good airplane engine because you'll want a second prop nut on it. Also, forget about putting a spinner on it as well. I'd recommend looking for a new crankshaft if you want to use it.

Contact the YS parts and services guy. He can tell you how to make it an airplane engine. The main differences were the insulator between the reg. and crankcase and the throttle barrel. The insulator won't hurt and may help. The throttle barrel may need changing. The throttle barrel was the secret ingredient that made this a heli engine. This engine dates back to the black diaphragm. This was most of the engines problems. Replace it with a new white one! If the crank threads are too short, raplace it. Or just put in on ebay as a heli engine. There are people who still fly these in antique FAI heli's.
