blohm and voss bv 215
hi all, just completed(apart from nose) my first depron designed plane
got the idea from a site called luft46 about xplanes of nazi german, saw this and wanted one.
i made a chuck glider and it flew perfectly first time. tried it in some wind and it corrected it self.
scaled it up and this is the result.
im quite pleased with it and i realy like the drop tanks/servo pods for the elevons.
hope to test fly it this week if weather is good and if ok then spray it.
i got inspired from a plan of an irregon that i sprayed in german camo
auw is 1lb 1 oz
39 ins span
gws 130watt brushless
2450 30c lipo
8x5 prop drawing 10 amp

RE: blohm and voss bv 215
most of my batteries are 1800/2200/2450mah. i do have a few 7.4v 800 mah 25c, which i sometimes join in Parallel ie 14.8v. i dont use smaller batteries as all my planes need the bigger size batteries and i dont want to buy smaller batteries.if the bv 215 flys ok i want to scale it up a bit and make it ducted fan. this is really just a test model.

RE: blohm and voss bv 215
Two weeks of bad weather came to an end and I got the first flights in. The wing tips flutter really badly at a moderate speed so it was only flown sedately. Peter Agnus (scale builder of repute)was at the field and gave some good advice on how to stop the flutter. The plane is an ongoing flying test bed. I will make a proper wing section with reflex, using 16th balsa over depron ribs on top of the existing wing.
The bv215 was flown by john smith as I took the vid-i should have done better. i will take a better vid next time.I should have sprayed it after all!!
All in all im really pleased with the result .
