RE: E-flight P47
It is fantastic. Slow flight is very good and stable. I am flying mine with the stock motor and a 2100 Lipo battery. Has plenty of power. I first flew it with out a working rudder but since have made a working rudder and steerable tail wheel. The other mod I made was to not include the bottow wing cover. It seemed to me to be too much weight for no real advantage. I install the bottow wing cover and bombs only for static display and they are removed for flying. Looks great.
You will love it.
My 2 cents worth

RE: E-flight P47
The plane is better built then the gws warbirds. People are getting them put together in 4 to 6 hours or less. Most of the people I've talked to are using the e-flite 450 outrunner motor. It has plenty of power. The plane comes painted and the stickers are on the plane. The pilot and cockpit are painted as well. The fuselage is one piece too. Not like the gws warbirds that have to be glued together.

RE: E-flight P47
I have flown mine many times now and am really impressed by the thought they put into this plane. Looks great and flys nice with the stock motor. I have used both a 1320 and 2100 LiPo and it flys fine with either. It's a little under power for doing any 3D work, but fly's like it should for a real plane. It goes together real fast using hot glue too : )

muleman , just wondering , the HBshop suggested the 400 outrunner so when I was there i purchased it .BUt the diretions say that the 450 is bets for landing gear and full house servos .
How do you feel ?
I may want to send the 400 back for the 450

As an alternate to the Park 450, I chose a Hyperion Z2213-20 from Dave's Aircraft World. On 3 2200 cells and a 10x7 APC I can just about peel the paper decals off. But seriously....it can climb straight up. The weight is 22oz. I did install a working rudder for ground handling and relocated the tail wheel. The battery sits up against the firewall. No dead weight! Overall, a nice addition to the fleet.

LDM,
Before you go brushless, try flying it stock. It flies sweet. Even with all the gear and bombs hanging out in the breeze. I was going to go with a brushless Mega, but heck it flies pretty well as is. Speed looks about right for it. And it's a joy to fly without any of the bad tendencies the PZ Mustang has. Like no tip stall.

LDM,
Yes I'm running a TP 3s2100 pack, stock can 480 motor, and just like Wazmo, 8 to 12 min.
I did mine up a little different on the outside, and I added the rudder option a couple of nights ago.

RE: E-flight P47
I agree with GlacierG, it flys OK on stock power. I did the first couple of flights stock and although spirited, it just wasn't as fast as it should be (just my opinion). The installation of brushless "War Emergency Power" was just for fun and I rarely even use it, but when I do that little puppy cooks. BTW, I like the red checkers and monicer, GlacierG.
Happy flying!

Thanks everyone , but I have the e-flight 400 outrunner . what do you think , is the 400 non geared as good as the stock gearded ??
Remeber I was sold this engine in a rush , the manual suggest 450 outrunner .
I want the plane to fly with wheels and fully loaded.
I fly mostly gas ww2 , so I am not into hovering , just good power and scale flights

RE: E-flight P47
I am running the 450 with 1800 3 cell lipos and I get 20 mins of flight time easy with a mix of cruising around and full power for loops and stuff. If I try hard I can get 25 mins or better but I am a "leadfoot" hehe. I have the PZ P-51 and this plane is a better flyer hands down. I like the finish on the PZ foam better but the E-flite is a lot more fun with more power AND landing gear
For lazy day flying I use a Sig EP-42, totally relaxing bird to fly.

RE: E-flight P47
hardluk,
As a Stang owner too, I agree. The Jug is a joy to fly, where as the Mustang is waiting to bite you any chance it gets.
And I guess I'm the first to post on it's crash worthness.
Below is a photo of the rebuild after a stupid idea. Try a low inverted fly by, pull camera out of pocket, and try and locate bird and snap a photo. [:@]
Wing was in four pieces, both ends broke off at the ends of the CF rods.
15 min, 4 bamboo skewers and a little epoxy and you can see the results.
Had I done this with the Stang, repairs would have looked like this. Replace spinner, prop, gearbox, cowl, straighten the fuselgage, and hopefully the wing.

RE: E-flight P47
Great job on the repairs! looks great to me. I have been having a ball with my Hanger 9 PTS P-51. Whatever you might have heard its a GREAT trainer plane. I reccomend it for anyone interested into getting with Glow. I liked it mostly because it let me fly it trainerlike for a few flights and then strip off the trainer stuff and get busy with it. Lands like a dream with flaps down too! I like my electrics but there is just something about a low flyby with a gas engine roaring at full throttle... hehe

RE: E-flight P47
I changed out my motor this weekend from the stock motor to a 480 class (E-Fligh) brushless turning a 10 x 10 prop. First flight was great took off and went almost verticle. I was doing some high speed passes and the left wing panel (covering) over the servors flew off and took my push rod off too. I was very luck I was up high enough to do and emergency landing using the rudder. I have since glued the panels on and flown it twice with no problems. It really moves out with that motor. I am using a 2100 LiPol and get about 15 min. flight time. I was going to go with a bigger motor, but it would eat too much battery. You need a lot of weght up front, so motor weight is not an issue. The stock motor weighs more that this 480 brushless. The stock motor worked fine in low wind, but was too weak to fly on windy days. Still, it flys pretty good with the stock motor and I enjoyed the flying for a couple weeks. [>:]

RE: E-flight P47
Thanks for all the great info. I have loved flying my P-47. I have the outrunner 450 running 2100 lipo. I have just been running the stock 10 x 8 e prop. Is anybody running the park 450 outrunner with 2100 lipo? What prop do you suggest to use? I am new to the hobby so I don't quite understand the difference in props. Also, how have you made a steerable tail wheel. Please post pictures and suggestions. That is what this model is lacking. Thanks

RE: E-flight P47
I am interested in buying the E-flight P-47 and was wondering if I could use the electronics from my Parkzone P-51. I have had it with the Stang. It is a crap shoot every time I throw it up as to weather it lifts off or stalls out to the ground. If I can't use the electronics in the P-47 does anyone know another war bird I can use them in?

RE: E-flight P47
where there's a will there's a way...yes, you can make it work with pz electronics but it will take some effort...the p47's stock setup uses 3 servos...2 for the ailerons and 1 for the elevator...the aileron servos are 'y' harnessed together...again, you can set up the p47 like the p51's push pull system but it will take some work...you'll have to mod the wing for the control tubes and to accept the pz servo in the middle...also, the pz servo is too big for the elevator servo bay...you'll have to open that up as well...
you can also use the electronics in the new pz fw190...it handlaunches and flys easier than the p51...

RE: E-flight P47
Would one of the Stryker 480 motors be too much for the P47. I love the way it flys but it seems a little slow on days where the winds are around 10 to 12 mph. I feel like a goob I found out that the stock motor is a 480 reducd to a 400. I tried a bigger battery it ran much better
