Go to Ebay and search for "Cessna 182 electric"
There are several there. Also, this model is available through www.parkflyers.com as the Parkflyers Cessna 182.
It's the same plane.

Putting a brushless motor in these is the best thing you can do. They are a bit underpowered to be a good trainer I reckon. I put a brushless in after only a couple of flights and it helped me improve my skills a lot. Plus you have some great laughs with what it will do

RE: CESSNA 182 ART TECH
The parkflyers cessna is not the same as the art-tech cessna....parkflyers has got a 480 neo-dynium brushed motor that actually has more power and flight time than the brushless versions...the rcvr on these is a five channel, but the radio is only a four channel...if u want to u cud upgrade to a futaba or hitec six chnl radio and then add flaps or hook up the ailerons on seperate chnls instead of using a y connector.....read my review on the rcu user review forum parkflyers cessna 182 pro DJ

I just got mine from bananahobby.com. 150 bucks shipped to my door, 2.4ghz, brushless motor, and bluegraphics so it looks good too. Its my first plane and im really happy with it. Flies great, loops, rolls, etc are no problem. It is the art-tech one in the 3d/aerobatics section

RE: CESSNA 182 ART TECH
Thanks, i have had 8 successful flights (and landings) and im already doing aerobatics within reason that my cessna allows, My goal is to get a large electric balsa p-38 and p-51 eventually. The simulator time has really paid off before i ever flew this one. Inverted flight is a bit more tricky than i anticipated with this cessna though.

Yup bro...inverted flight with a hi wing is harder ...stay away from the mustang untill uve flown another low wing tail dragger...mustangs r one of the hardest warbirds along with the p-38 to fly....i have built and crashed several of both and ive been flyn rc stuff 40yrs now.....some really good second planes and first low wing r the at6 and u can get one of them rtf for like 80$ ive got one of the tw at6 and with a lil bit of tlc its a great flyer...the t-34 is another good first military plane....im setting up a p-40 with retracts right now for a review soon as i get done with the others im doing and then im gonna be doing a foam electric p-38 for a review...check out some of my reviews on the users review area....if i can help ya, just ask, ill surely try..DJ

RE: CESSNA 182 ART TECH
Thanks, i will certainly keep that in mind, my intention was to get a p-51 foamy after i got really good at this cessna just to see if i like how the low wing planes handle and then eventually (a year or two) get this blue p-51d http://aircraft-world.com/shopexd.asp?id=4741 It seems expensive, but i cant find a large electric balsap-51 similar to that I like. they are all much smaller. Does anyone who has the Art-tech cessna 182 version 2 from banana hobby like mine know if i can pit a li-po in it? These chinese instructions are vague at best. It has a 970kv brushless motor and a 20a speed control.

Thats a nice mustang....i know the blitzworks rc from bh has a nice looking and flying mustang.....but its foam...im starting to like foam planes more than balsa..they r lighter and a whole lot tougher man....
U can use a 7.4v 1800-2100mah lipo in that setup...in the attached video is my cessna with a brushed motor and a 7.4v 2100mah lipo and i get like 20 mins of flying like in the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7D5aRGCgHjo

RE: CESSNA 182 ART TECH
Yeah i reeeeealy like the paint scheme on that one. But i know im not ready for that one yet...even if i got it, it would DEFINITELY be a shelf queen for a while til i get more flight time in.
Your cessna is crazy lol...i wish mine had that kind of power. All i have laying around here are 11.1 lipos though. I guess i could try a 7.4 and if i see if it lights on fire..lol. The speed control says for ni-mh though...hmm. I can hope to hear from someone on here with my exact plane that could tell me for sure.

not the art tech mustang!! it handels like a trainer. Landing a tail dragger can be a little hard if you dont have an exellent sim to practice but skid land and the only thing to look out for when landing is that airscoop on the underside

RE: CESSNA 182 ART TECH
if it flys like a trainer then it does not have a true mustang airfoil...so y bother...it wont perform like a real mustang does...not that im putting those planes or u down ....just it such a waste to have something that kinda looks like a mustang but dont fly like one...but thats me im a bit hardcore about scale stuff .....ive flown some of the pts (progressive training system) planes and to be really honest once ur done training they r not much in the performance area even after u have taken off the pts stuff.....ive been a certified instructor for 30 yrs now and i still truly feel that a high wing is the best way to go....but !!! the pts mustang and others do have a eye appeal i can understand the new pilot wanting....the foam rc plane has opened up a whole new area for the beginner pilot fer sure and im glad of it and they r alot cheaper and easier to fly than the ol balsa nitro (slimer)... thats one of the great things about this hobby and this forum and we can all voice r own thoughts DJ
