direct 280 epp flying wing
i am interested in buying a direct 280 flying wing from hobby lobby after experience with about 3 other 3-ch planes (aerobird, megatech merlin, and mini piper).
is it a good plane, and is there anything i should know when building it or flying it? I have a 7 cell nicad battery 350 mAh. is that a good battery for the direct 280 or do i need the one recommended on the hl website? thanks
by the way, if anyone wants a mini piper, its a GREAT plane, just my advice

I have flown my Direct280 for several months now and I can say that it is almost indestructible and pretty easy to fly. You will need a radio with elevon mixing, like the Hitec Flash 4 or 5. I have already gone on to faster motors. I tried HL's 280BB and Wattage380. The 380 is the best with a 3 x 2 prop for Wattage's J-3 Cub. The Gunther (zagi) prop that comes with it is OK for the stock motor, but doesn't work with the 380. I'm using 720 & 800 mah 7-cell packs and get about 10 minutes of flight time.

The 380 that I use is only slightly larger than the stock 280, while a Graupner 400 seems noticeably heavier, although I haven't weighed them. It seems it would be too heavy to balance. The stock motor mount will work fine.
