I´ve only subscribed to one thread here, yet I get a bunch of mail regarding "subscribed" threads that I´ve only written in...

My Feedback: (1)
Keep getting notifications that I don't want
Although I have unsubscribed to a forum I keep getting notifications for that forum. When I check the Forum Tools in that forum it says "subscribe". This is getting to be very annoying. I have tried signing out and signing back in. Am I going to be forced to give up my long time membership in RCU to stop these notifications? I only want notifications from rhe threads that I have subscribed to, not every time someone posts to the forum.

We did not change anything for your threads. We have just turned off the Forum daily digest notification setting. If you would like to recieve those daily digest notifcations, please follow the direction that I have posted above to subscribe.
Thank you.

OK....something has changed. When I log out it says cookies are erased. When I check IE9 the cookies for RCUniverse are still there. This is after closing out IE9, re launching IE9, going to tools, internet options, general tab, brouser history, settings. There they are, not erased.

Pamster: Exactly the same problem here !! I'm getting 10 to 20 notifications per day for threads I don't subscribe to. Getting very annoying.
THE SYSTEM WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THEM.
AAARRRRGGGGHHHH........IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.

I am NOT receiving email notifications AGAIN for subscribed forums. However, I am receiving emails for subscribed threads. Oh, I did receive and email for this forum, but not the other 3 or 4 I'm subscribed to.

My Feedback: (1)
Hi all!
From what I hear from tech, the story is that a one-time "nudge" was given to what we call the Forum Daily Digest email server, which sent out notifications for each forum you're subscribed to. Through your feedback, we can see this was not something anyone was prepared for, and we apologize for that. I know there is some confusion about what we're all subscribed to, because I just had to have it all explained to me!
Esther (IBpark) and I are working on a comprehensive document about subscriptions and notifications that we'll try to post tomorrow (Thursday our time).
Meanwhile, you should NOT be receiving any further FORUM notification emails from RCU (you will still get your thread notifications).

have stated this before and I will say it again. The subscription default should be OFF and if you want to subscribe to a thread or fourm you have to manually turn it ON yourself....................Problem solved.................
What is so freakin hard about that? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Ok. I went through and manually unsubscribed myself from the 20+ forums I somehow got subscribed to. (After not being on the site for quite some time...)
Then I went and unsubscribed from this specific thread because by posting in it I got subscribed to it. (That's absolutely brilliant thinking guys, way to go!).
Now I just got an email claiming I'm still subscribed to the Aerodymanics Forum. But I'm not!
Arggghhhhhh!!!!!!! Are you kidding me? Now what the he&^ am I supposed to do?
(And, of course, when I click on the link in the email to unsubscribe me it takes me to a page where I am told there is a bad link..., just wonderful)

I too am getting endless emails saying a forum I'm subscribed to has new content. I haven't been on this site in years. Now I'm back, and trying to find where to delete my account. Up yours RCU! Your site sucks now!

I had not posted on this forum in who knows how long. Suddenly I get flooded with emails.
I tried unsubscribing to threads and forums. There is nothing in the subscribed list for me to unsubscribe from.
I tried deleting my account. That did not stop the emails.
This is moving from aggravation to harassment. I suggest you bring the forum down until you find someone that can get it under control.

OK, I've got an interesting one. I've stumbled on the way to find my own postings. Click on my name and go to "My Activity" but why does a member by the name of "karolh" show up as "MY" activity esp. when I haven't posted anything in his threads?
Never mind I see the other filter for me, friends , and all. Had the all button clicked.

Oh. My. GOD.
Here: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/prof...do=editoptions
About 10 mouse wheel clicks down is a header with the title: Messaging & Notification
under that there is a sub heading called: "Default Thread Subscription Mode:"
a drop box is directly to the right of that. Choose the "Do not subscribe" option. Scroll down and click "save changes" at the bottom right of the page.

Also, if you go to Settings in the "my subscriptions" folder, there is a radio button or "tic" box at the top right. If you hover your mouse above that, a dialog box will pop up telling you what that radio button is for. Click on it and it will magically tic (or un-tic) all the subscription boxes. If you un-tic all of them you can re-tic the ones you want to be subscribed to.

Ok , mr brainiac, the "Do not subscribe option" is selected however it is having no effect. I am still getting inundated with bogus email.
I humbly await your next suggestion.
Don't be shy now.
