Went to set I into compat mode for RCU and saw I had already done that. So I removed it from the compat list. Let's see if that fixes the problem.

Fire Fox works fine for me on both desktop and laptop. I like it because of the vast number of extensions available for it, for example video capture downloads, weather, etc. Chromium, the open sourced version of Chrome works fine on my ASUS 7" netbook. Occasionally I use Epiphany and Konqueror, too. Since many of the websites have discontinued proprietary extensions, I've had very little need to resort to Internet Explorer.

OK, guys, glad you are loving your browsers. I have no intention of changing. My goal is to advocate and to report here any problems that comes up with IE and particularly IE10, not to change.

And just when you get IE 10 sorted out, here comes IE 11!

Just upgraded from IE 9 to IE 11 and it is not possible to reply in posts (or post a new post) now with IE 11. I'm typing this with Crome version 31 now.
What settings need to be changed (if any) in IE 11 to be able to make new posts or reply to posts here at RCU?

Thanks
Bo

Etit: I'm back, I just took a chanse and added rcuniverse.com to Comatibilityview list (under meny Tools, Settings for Compatibilityview). Works now - I type this and save Changes with IE 11.

While we're at it, can we convince to an alternative operating system like Apple OSX, Android, BSD Unix or Linux? (.... just pulling your leg. )

I've been using Linux in various flavors for the past 14 years, especially for net browsing, and so far has done me well. Works even on light hardware such as my older ASUS 4G Surf 7" netbook. I've had no need to attempt to use IE in WINE (Windows Emulator).

So far, the RC Universe website has been working fine in Fire Fox, Chromium, Epiphany, and Konqueror browsers, Linux versions. Also I'm glad that the RCU team has finally corrected the E-mail link problem.

I think that the "View Recent Posts & Other Forum Details" under everyone's profile tab, isn't working!!!!

That is correct -- the profile on the "non-forum" side of the site does not connect with the forums. Never has.

No, acually I am sure that I've used it numerous times in the past, when I couldn't find the thread I answered.
Using the "View Recent Posts & Other Forum Details" it was much easier!

You are correct that the old system let us go to our profile and see our recent posts.

You are incorrect that they don't show up on your profile now. I clicked on your name or your avatar, and was taken straight to a page with about ten of your recent posts. I'm going to try my own icon after I post this reply.

Best wishes,
Dave Olson

Later: Confirmed. I clicked on my avatar and was taken to a profile page with my two most recent posts.

not correct... the latest post displaying for Kostas1 by going to the link provided shows his latest post as having been in July 2013.

however if you click on his user name and then click on 'View Forum Posts' you'll see his actual latest posts....

ok we seem to be looking at two different 'view recent posts.'

here is the user profile view that Kostas1 is talking about, and that one does not work... (it did used to temporarily, but I'm pretty sure IBobi is correct that even with the bad old system it didn't work)

and for the benefit of Kostas1, here is how you'd find your latest posts on the new system:

I hope that helps!!

FWIW, it took me 1/2 an hour to log in just now. On my company laptop on a business trip. Win 7 IE 10

Asked me to log in but when I entered UN/PW it came back

The service is unavailable.JRun Servlet Error[h=1]503[/h]
Request timed out waiting to execute

Tried about 10 times over 30 minutes and got various other errors or just that the page was not available. I finally got in about 10 minutes ago.

No problems getting to anything else on the web including e-mail, company site and such.

I do not know if I am posting on the right thread but I had some pictures vanished from my thread at http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/rc-j...f-hawk-t1.html those are my first pictures, they were there a few days ago, I try to upload them again and they upload only blank space no pictures at all, somebody knows what is happening or had experienced the same problem?

try renaming the images on your computer,
then edit your post #1 and upload them again with their new names...
if THAT doesn't work, I'd just try creating a new post (on that same thread) and upload them on the new post.

Jim, rename the pictures and edit the post does not work, the picture upload as a blank file, actually I left the picture there, on the pictures management software you can find it blank. I will try to post again in the end of the thread and see if it works

Just a thought passing by . . . .
Could your pics exceed the maximum the server accepts ?
I do not remember for sure but I seem to remember 2 megabytes or may be 2 megabits.

Yesterday morning the manage attachment would not work most of the day then late last evening it worked and I posted my two pictures.
