Question Using RC Car ESC in Plane?

Hi,
I have the Duratrax Elemen by Castle ESC and Motor for an RC Car and want to use it in an RC plane. I have the Flysky FS-i6X plane transmitter but cant seem to connect the ESC to the left stick (forward/backwards). It connects fine to all the other self centering stick but not the typical left throttle stick. I believe the issue is the lack of reverse function within the left stick that the ESC is looking for.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

There is no "reverse" function on the transmitter - that is purely a function of the ESC. The signal from all the transmitter channels looks pretty much the same. Perhaps if you turn on the transmitter with your throttle down then center your throttle before you turn on your receiver and ESC it might work.

Kv is probably way too high. What is the Kv of that motor?
Motors have only one Kv, it is a physical property, like mass, speed, time.
It is not a unit of measurement, such as kg, m/s, s, ...
