Default Msgs already showing up as read

When I go to my forums for the first time in the day, new msgs show up as already read. They have the current days date and I am positive I have not read them. Also, if I step away for 30 min or so while reading the forum most of the msgs have changed to read by themselves. This even happens if I go to rcu, check only a few msgs and then go to a different web site (like when someone comes into your office with actual work related questions, imagine the nerve). When I go back to rcu, the msgs all show up as read.

Default RE: Msgs already showing up as read

Yes...after 30 minutes we "timeout" and mark everything as read for the previous session. Messages are marked read based on your last visit. A visit is marked by you being on the site actively. Once you go idle the counter starts ticking and when it hits 30 minutes your visit is "over" and therefore everything marked read. Only when you return later will you see new posts that occured after your last activity before going idle.
