Default one rule for everyone?

Please resist the urge to curse, flame, degrade, insult or embarrass someone in your post. We encourage the free flow of your ideas, but believe that they can be communicated (and received) much more effectively if you keep things civil. If you have to vent, take it offline. We carefully monitor posts and will ban individuals who engage in offensive conduct within the forums. Thanks. (RCU Policies)
while looking for landyachts ( where is that forum anyway? ) i saw something about drifting, whats this i think...

this is a page i found...

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_22..._1/key_/tm.htm

i only got to the second page before I'd had enough. I've seen posts in our more civilised sections get wiped for the suggestion of an &$$ but here every insult is given and seems to be allowed..
now i know some of these car guys can be egomaniacs when it gets past club racing, it's like the fast and the furious for teens, all flashy this and blue bits that but why is this group allowed to get away with this?
they need a serious clean up!! the mods over there arnt doing the work.

Phillybaby,

That thread does need some attention.[&:] I forwarded your concerns to the car moderators. Anytime you see a problem post click on the REPORT THIS POST button to notify a moderator. With the number of posts here, it is easy to let something slip by - believe me I know from first hand experience. For whatever reason the car forums tend to be a little wilder than the plane areas. We count on our members to help keep an eye out for problems.

i don't hang around that area really, i used to pop in but what i know doesn't seem to be of relevance over there to them.
i don't feel like drudging through the rest of that sections posts just to report stuff, i rarely report things anyway, i don't mind the odd word hidden with *'s and such, but that was just way beyond.
it's not just the words, the lack of respect is amazing. something you sadly might be able to account to the general behaviour of the teen element these days, esp the bling brigade.

The thread's been cleaned up. Boy was that a mess!

The free-for-all wasn't allowed. Rather, it was undiscovered by me and my fellow mods (fell through the cracks). With a new post in the car forums at a rate of about 1 per minute, we need every member who comes across inappropriate posts to report them.

And maybe we should start to 'curb' some avatars. On in the thread in question, is of Snoop Doggie Dogg 'Puffin' away..

(not that I mind, but some might... Nancy Reagan would have..)

(And jeez, can't these people learn to spell?! I know I'm bad (dyslexia) but at least I try to use all the letters that are supposed to be included in the word, even if they are silent!)

Unfortunately, this is something you can see on (1) prime time television and some PG rated movies. Besides, isn't your avatar of a dog flying high too?

When I see a blatently offensive avatar, I ask the member to "reconsider" using it.

The RC Car crowd is totally different than the Plane crowd. My heart goes out to the mods over there.

Actually, it is a dog meditating (notice he's in the "lotus' position?!) and teh GIf file is called 'meditation'

No, I hear ya, there's more out there on TV & in the general media that is MUCH more offensive (Look at MTV, right!!)

And agreed, the CAR mods do have thier work cut out for them...
